Her robe, midnight-dark and embroidered with threads of moonlight, made her seem carved from the stars themselves. Without looking up, Nyx spoke, her voice calm, melodic, and sharp enough to freeze the air. “Speak, Miss Cressida. You have my attention,” she murmured.” Cressida swallowed hard. The clouds around her pulsed faintly with her heartbeat. “Vice Principal Nyx… I’ve discovered something. Something that concerns the Four and the new girl, Seraphine Vale.”

Nyx screamed angrily, almost attracting everyone's attention. “Bring your voice down or you're going to ruin your man's birthday party.” Lucy whispered to Nyx. Nyx was not interested in having this conversation because she was desperately looking for Jackson; she needed to have a conversation with him before he met Kayla. My eyes widened and I clutched my chest at the coldness that spread through my soul. I brightened my light and warmed it, pushing it away from me. Panicked, I look at Nyx and see his eyes are black and black tattoos are now on his face. Spiro is laughing heartedly.

NYX Nyx stood with her head hanging low, tied in both arms before the counsel of the Guardians. She knew that her fate had already been decided. All it remained was the announcement.
