She started scratching dark lines on a big piece of white paper. She drew a girl with a flat nose and lots of little brown dots on her cheeks. While she drew, a huge, happy smile came onto her face. She even used a bright yellow stone to draw big sun lines all around the girl's head, making her look like a bright star. At the very top of the paper, Amara wrote one word with her shaky hand: Mommy. "Why did you write that?" Jabari asked, his little eyebrows bunching up. "That does not look like the mean lady from the Okafor clan."

Jonah’s still at the table, drawing now instead of eating, his pencil moving in quick strokes across the page. I sit there with him for a few more minutes, neither of us saying anything, just existing in the same space while Mara’s music pounds through the walls from her room. Then he turns it around so I can see. I go still. It’s a drawing of a car. Not just any car. Two cars, actually, twisted together in the middle of the page like they’ve collided, metal crumpled and glass scattered everywhere. The lines are dark and heavy, pressed so hard into the paper in some places that it’s torn through.

"The what?" Aiden proudly lifted the parchment, presenting it with a triumphant flourish. It was a masterpiece of terrible stick figures. There was a tall, blocky man with a jagged golden crown, a woman wearing an oversized silver tiara, a small blob representing a little boy, a giant black dog with six legs, a glowing stick figure surrounded by yellow loops, and a final girl drawn with aggressively angry V-shaped eyebrows. Kael let out a long, dry sigh. "Let me guess. The one with the furious eyebrows is your long-lost aunt?"

Watching her. Waiting for her. Aria pressed a hand to her chest. Her heart was still racing. She glanced at the far corner of the room, half - expecting a shadow to move. Nothing. Just dust motes in golden half - light. No Riri. Just the ache of her. She reached for her notebook, flipping it open to the middle. Page after page of half - formed sketches, symbols she didn’t remember drawing. Circles within circles. Eyes. Tongues. A woman in chains beneath a flowering tree.

Victory pudding. Amara laughed softly and typed back: Tell him I love him. A minute later, another message appeared: He knows. But I’ll tell him anyway. She folded the shawl closer around her, then reached for her pencil. She didn’t draw a face this time. She started with a swirl—bold strokes of gold, deep reds curling into soft blues. An emotional portrait. The baby’s heartbeat, perhaps. Or her own. Still beating. Still holding. On the next page, she drew two hands—one steady, one trembling—reaching. Not yet touching. Just... almost.

Math problems, with adorable, fuzzy cat faces on top of every number. When the printer spat out the results, Takuto stared in disbelief at the image in front of him. It was a disaster, but it was his disaster. The paper showed him smiling with dog ears. "Takuto Doghito’s Winter Break Homework~Woof!" was written underneath in glittery font. There were just three hours left until the deadline. Desperation gnawed at him as he turned to his craft project, which was still completely unfinished. Materials Left: Two used diapers (with the clean side facing outward, thank goodness)

Nicole. “Heidi…” my heart softened as I dropped to my knees beside her. “I’m gonna put them back, I promise. I just wanted mum to stay here for a while.” One of her drawings rested ont he table too, almost covered by mum’s scarf. I pulled it from under there. It wasn’t the best picture but I could tell it was two older women with a child in between them. One of the women’s hair was done with a yellow pencil while the other was black, the child had tiny dots around her head to imitate hair, but what they all had in common was the yellow circles hovering over their heads and the triangle wings.

Sakura couldn’t help but ask, arranging the seafood properly on the platter so they wouldn’t fall when she carried them out. Ms. Ruka giggled and then said, “If we have time, I will certainly suggest to Tachibana-sensei to do an extra photo shoot. There are some scenes I think Tachibana-sensei would definitely approve, though they wouldn’t be suitable for the magazine.” Akira raised a brow and said, “I can already guess what they are.” Jane, curious, asked Akira, “What are they?” Akira, being rather blunt, said, “Guys doing hot and naughty things together. In Japan, it’s call Yaoi. It’s Ms. Ruka’s favorite form of literature.” She even winked.

The younger folded open the first page and his mouth became an 'O' " wow..you drew this?", Dae asked looking at the colourful portrait of a girl. "Yeah..", Aroon smiled. Dae turned the pages and there were drawings of Flowers, trees, river, sunset, animals, facial features and a lot more. "Aru..you drew this all ?", wonder was evident in the younger's words. "Hmm yes...", Aroon said. He was now standing behind the younger's chair, his both hands on table, caging the younger in between, looking at his own drawings.

She reached out with one arm to grab the drawings while holding the ice cream bucket with the other. Jaxon sat on the couch, lifted his long arms, and studied the words on the artwork, reading each phrase. "Her warmth delighted him, and the leather cord left a scarlet stain on her body as lovely as flowering Sakura. She made him sweat abundantly and was satisfied with the pleasure."
