The plastic bag slowly slipped out of her grip, her toenails fearfully digging into the soil. Refusing to breathe, Ophelia slowly turned around, her eyes still shut. There was no need to run; she understood that it would not do her any good. Her eyes slowly opened; from the ground, her eyes timidly went up to the huge figure of an unknown male who had stopped a few steps away from her.

Ophelia's POV Elliot was dying, and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. “Let me through!” My voice cracked as I ran after the pack healers carrying his limp body towards the mansion. “Elliot!” I shouted again. My legs felt weak, but I kept moving. “What's happening to him?!” The healers didn’t stop. No one even looked at me. All I could see was Elliot’s pale, still face as they disappeared through the heavy oak doors of the Alpha’s mansion.
