I smiled but pressed my lips when Aliyah creased her forehead, not liking how I described them. I narrowed my eyes, gazing at the two men in front of me. “Frank’s the Captain America, and Finn’s the Superman.”

“You’ll hopefully meet him again someday. New friends have a way of showing up when you least expect it.” “Mommy,” Adrian said, tugging on my sleeve, “do you know he’s like a superhero?” I squinted playfully, tilting my head. “Hmm… could he be Batman?” Adrian giggled and shook his head. “No, not Batman. But his name sounds so cool, like a superhero name. I want you to give me a name like that one day.” “Aww, baby, your name is perfect just the way it is. It suits you perfectly.” I squished his cheeks softly, making him laugh. “So tell me, what is his name?”

He asks looking at me intently. “Superheroes are mad up but yeah whatever.” I say and he smiles a little. “I don’t know if they’re made up.” He says and I look at him amused. “Knox, they’re fiction.” I and he shrugs his shoulders like he doesn’t agree. “I think I would be Superman.” He says and I look at him shocked. “Really?” I can’t believe his answer. Out of all the superheroes in the world “Yes!” He says offended. “Not even Iron man? Or …”

Before Frank could speak, Moxxi answered, "We know our chief very well even if others don't. The only difference between him and superheroes is the red underwear, and it's only natural he refuses to allow any nonsense to happen where his light touches—right, dear leader?" Frank rolled his eyes at both Moxxi and Jada—those two could really be a handful on occasions. Hana Pearce came up just then. "Superhero? What superhero?" "Exactly the one you're thinking of!"

“Nah, man, I’m Night Wing. I guess that makes you Aquaman.” Micah shrugs, “Wait then, who is Priest?” I give them all a straight face. “I don’t know. How about The Flash?” Connor shakes his head. “Nah, he’s too broody, so he would be, The Green Arrow, and Corbin is the Flash.” Micah snickers. “So that’s settled, Gideon is Cyborg, and Dragon can be Hawk Man. But then again, maybe we’re more like Marvel characters since there are more of us.” He raises his hand playfully. “I vote to be Captain America.”

Madam Secretary had felt a glimmer of hope, totally convinced that the heroes would be able to take down the last standing alien life form that seemed to be stronger than all the others—Elektris. The Pentagon’s database had managed to gather information on these heroes over the years, having records of their special abilities. I'm sticking with Thanos and The Joker, though Thanos isn't a villain if you really think about it." "You wound me Alexis," Nick said placing a hand on his chest and feigning hurt, "I don't know who you are." "And you never will." Everyone agreed with him but I just shrugged and continued eating.

I just stared at him, unable to say anything. He introduced himself to me and after a very lengthy conversation I learnt that he was the leader of the group he called 'the Rebel'; That their planet had been taken over by The Force, a group that overthrew the government, killed almost everyone of them with supernatural abilities that refused to work for them and enslaved other citizens. The Rebel was formed to identify those with powers and bring them such that when their numbers grew big they would rise up against the Force and reclaim their land.

I hit the Bluetooth and listen to the phone ring, a male answers, “Crescent Moon, this is Jackson, how can I help you?” I clear my throat, “Former Alpha Braddock there?” I listen as he places the phone down and yells out, “Dad it’s for you.” I wait and listen as heavy foot falls hit the flooring and a deep baritone voice speaks, “this is Braddock.” I gulp down the lump that’s just formed in my throat, “Hello sir, my name is Alpha Christov,” a growl erupts from his throat and then silence, “you still there?” He grunts, “what do you want Alpha Christov?”

I nearly say upset, only causing him to laugh. "Batman and Co. are cooler." "Oh, come on, don't tell me you think Superman is cooler than Iron Man or Hulk or Thor. There's Spiderman, Dr Strange, Hawkeye, Deadpool of course Captain America, and so many more. Batman or Superman can't ever keep up with them." He laughs about my eagerness. "You are cute when you are so agitated. Just for this reason I'll try to like Marvel in future." His words make me blush, and I give him a warm smile. Even if my intentions in Oxford were to only keep up one-night stands. I have to admit I like him and his way to behave with me.
