The Alpha stated, and she turned to me sharply, peering into my eyes like she was searching for something in there. "It was only out of mercy and pity at how wounded he was," I murmured to the witch, but just then, she screamed in fear, moving back as if she had found something shocking in my face. "What is it?" I questioned her alongside the others, who were also eager to hear her. "Why?" Why would you do that? "she half-yelled at me, wagging her head. "I've told you it was sheer pity. I, I, I... "Shut up!" she shouted this time, panting as she turned to the Alpha and the others.

She began gagging, thrashing where she stood as tried to unclasp the ghost fingers that gripped her hand tight. Whatever it was that was happening, was fucking working. With a dangerous smirk, I drew closer. I noticed Riftan out of my peripheral view rising from his seat, a shocked expression on his face. Whatever it was he was thinking at that moment, we would handle it later. Right now I needed to teach a bitch a lesson. I stalked towards Mercy before raising my hand into the air, then smiled when her body ascended into thin air. Her legs kicked, her eyes grew red and tears skated down her cheeks. I held my stance.

I demanded angrily and pushed him away from me, my eyes had turned fiery and my hair and started to glow. "No." He shouted and caught my wrist before I could chant a spell. The sparks distracted me and I could not complete the spell. "I just wanted to see her." I crashed on his chest and my tears soaked his shirt. "I know, I also wanted to." He said and hugged me tighter. "Alpha, there's been a perimeter breach." A guard barged in and announced hurriedly. "Get the men immediately," Declan ordered with a loud growl. "S-sir, t-there's a Witch." He said shakily and I stood up immediately.

My breathing was heavier for having walked that distance from the pack hospital to here despite my condition. Not that long, Mercy came out and helped me out from the wall toward the inside of his room. The atmosphere was cold and terrifying as usual but I maintained my frosty look. His eyes were on me, I didn't look away rather I tightened my grip around the IV stand. A slow smile spread over his face, " Leave us," he commands. I noticed Mercy went rigid beside me, her widened gaze trailing from me and then at Kian, "She is badly wounded and can't stand on her own, please Alpha,"

Lucien nodded, “of course, I will call a meeting tomorrow. Let me draw up the paperwork then we can sign in front of our pack.” As I nodded I realized that we were both playing with a deck of cards that we didn’t know the hand to. The only witch that had been capable of such a feat, was Aunt May, but Merlin knew that she was dead, which meant that there was another and for some reason, this thought filled her with a feeling of growing disquiet. She looked back at Zeke, laying, barely conscious, on the ground in his human form, and she felt her heart wrench at the sight.
