A Packless Luna
The word settles between us, heavy and undeniable, because I can see it too now, in the way the pack watches me, in the way they react, in the way things shift when I step into a room.
They may not accept me.
But they are no longer ignoring me.
“And you are letting it happen,” I say.
His jaw tightens slightly.
“I need it to happen.”
“For your pack,” I add.
“For stability,” he replies.
I let out a quiet breath, looking away again, because everything with him always comes back to responsibility, to duty, to something bigger than either of us, and that is exactly why this cannot become something more.
“Then you should be careful,” I say.
