Crystal's POV Pain. That was all I felt. It did not come in waves or pulses, it consumed everything, like my body was being torn apart from the inside. I could not breathe. I could not think. I could only feel the bond breaking, piece by piece, like something sacred was being ripped out of my soul. “Get up,” someone said. I did not move. A kick landed against my ribs, forcing a weak gasp out of me. “I said get up, you useless thing,” Bryan’s voice snapped. Of course. Even after rejecting me, he still was not done.

My pace stumbles for half a second when the bond pulses again. Pain. Sharp. Weakening. Something has happened to him.

Between his clouded vision, the lashes in his back, and the aches from being severely punched in the stomach and face, he couldn’t tell which was worse; the fact that he couldn’t see to know what was happening, or the ongoing pain. As he struggled to see, he heard Lucian’s voice ring out. “You wanted so badly to make me feel left out, well, now it’s my turn to make you suffer! That’s all I want… my brother, on the other hand, wants the girl. Leah is her name, right? Ah well, it’s not like you’ll be able to hold back.” He spat furiously. “If you lay a hand on her, I’ll KILL YOU!!”

Tears streamed down my face, each one carrying a pain that pierced my soul. "Bryan, please don't leave me! Hold on, Bryan, please!" I pleaded desperately, my voice filled with anguish. Memories of our shared dreams flooded my mind. "Remember, we promised we would lead the pack together, Bryan! We were supposed to rule side by side! Don't go, Bryan!!!" My voice cracked with sorrow, as if begging for the impossible; to defy the cruel grasp of death and preserve the bond we had forged. "Noooo!! Bryan!!" A feral growl erupted from deep within me, seething with pain and rage as my eyes scanned the surroundings, desperately searching for the perpetrator responsible for Bryan's Pain.

Rain rips me from the black nothing. It’s impossible to know how much time passes because all I’m conscious of is pain. But at least I’m not alone. As I drift in and out of an ocean of pain, Jeremy is always there, holding my hand, curving his body around mine, telling me to hold on, that it won’t hurt for much longer. And even though I know painkillers and drugs don’t work on us shifters, it doesn’t stop me from begging for them anyway.

The pain shot through him and he winced, suddenly regretting dealing only one blow to Damian. That Bastard of a Brother.

Drake wanted to alert them that he was awake by speaking, but he was too weak and in too much pain to speak. He tried moving a little, but the pain he felt was more than what he had when blown away by the explosion. His heart began to beat faster, and he was losing consciousness again. Next, a beeper was being heard throughout the room as his heart beat fastened. The nurse quickly rushed out to inform the doctors while Niel got up and ran to his son's side. When he looked at his vulnerable little boy, pain struck his heart. He had thought all the pain his little boy was going through would end with happiness, but it seems the pain keeps coming back, pushing the happiness away.

Damian explained to me I went silent and I was surprised when Damian laughed, he then said, “I can’t believe someone did this to Brian. Those people clearly don’t know how ruthless he is. I heard it directly when Anna left the ER, he promised her he would make the one who did it to her pay with their life.” I stayed silent hearing it, Damian continued his words, “I won’t let him do it alone! Not sure about Fai, but for me this is personal and I will bring hell to those people until they wish they would never be born in this world.”

I cussed out loud as the muscles in my stomach jerked and the pain increased. I felt black spots blur my eyesight as I shouted in pain. I closed my eyes so hard that I could see white spots everywhere. I was panting and I couldn't breathe as the pain closed around my lungs like someone was constricting my windpipes. I couldn't scream anymore because I couldn't breathe and my throat was on fire. I've been screaming so much that my throat was raw. I stopped screaming as I tried to breathe. Inhale, Exhale. I said to myself in my head. I kept repeating that in my head as I tried to do the same but I couldn't do the same so I fainted.
