I tried to muffle the agonizing sound that threatened to burst right out of my throat, but my hands were barely mobile. As my mind got used to the pain, I tried my best to relax, while I tried to put my mind at ease, the moment I got to the maximum level of relaxation, I could invoke the portal, and then I would be back home like nothing happened. My back was smelling like cooked meat at this point, and the pain caused my fingers to move more than they originally would. My inability to sit independently made it harder to stop the pain, and the pain made it harder to concentrate. I tried to think of something that could force me beyond the pain.

Somewhere along the line, I realized the pain in my arm had dulled into something distant, almost unnoticeable. By the time night fell, the suffering that had clung to me all day was finally gone.

However, I hurriedly withdraw my hand as pain begins to jolt through me at the agonizing crying of a woman whose face I can't make out. Just then, two distinct sharp pains pierce my back, like something forcing its way out of my body. I cover my lips with my hands to avoid screaming from the unbearable pain coursing through me. I run out, leaning against the wall down the corridor, taking deep breaths, and hoping the pain will subside, and it does, gradually. After a few minutes, I could no longer feel the pain again, and so I made my way to my office to handle the task ahead.

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. As the day went on, the pains became less frequent and less intense. But every time one would strike, my mind would race with anxious thoughts. What if this was the start of something worse? What if I was going to be stuck with this pain forever? I tried to push these thoughts aside and distract myself with work and other tasks, but they kept coming back. The more I tried to ignore them, the more they persisted. Finally, as the day drew to a close, the pains seemed to disappear entirely. I breathed a sigh of relief, hoping that it had just been a passing phase.

Instinctively, I placed my hand on the area, hoping to alleviate the discomfort. To my relief, the pain subsided slightly, allowing me to catch my breath. I couldn't help but wonder what had caused this sudden discomfort. Had I strained a muscle during the night? Or was it something more serious? Taking a moment to gather myself, I carefully sat up, keeping my movements slow and deliberate. The pain lingered, but it wasn't as intense as before. I pondered my options. Should I call a doctor? Or perhaps wait and see if the pain would fade on its own? Uncertainty gnawed at me, but I knew I had to make a decision soon.

After a few minutes, the pain turns into a dull ache, and I breathe a sigh of relief. “Are you okay now?” Adrian asked. I nod, then cry when the motion jolts my body, sending a stinging pain through my entrance. “I know, baby. I’m sorry. I thought it would be better to do it quickly than prolong the pain. Let me know when you’re ready for me to move.” Fresh tears stream down my face, and Adrian kisses every one of them away. Rubbing my back helps. A lot. Soon, the stretching burn fades into a dull, but almost pleasurable ache.

I should schedule an appointment with my doctor. The whole night was a cycle of pain and relief. I got at least an hour of sleep before the pain began again. It takes 30 minutes for the pain to go away. I slept as much as I could; falling asleep just as soon as the pain was fading. I don’t want to seem tired tomorrow. Kael might see me and give me more errands to run. It’s hard enough to do so when I’m fine but if I’m sick or sleepy, he’ll surely find a way to torture and humiliate me. The pain began again at around 5am. I was awake so I decided to head early to work, but this pain in my stomach…

As the doctor came to remove the last dressing, he kept whining about how the pain wouldn’t go away. “But the wound is closed and well healed,” the confused doctor remarked, trying to check for the cause of pain. “I know, right? It just keeps hurting at the waist, back, and abdomen,” he pouted. The doctor checked once again, trying to find the cause of the unknown pain, but couldn’t come up with anything meaningful. “I will tell them to prepare the toxin tonic. It will flush out any pain that you are feeling. In just two hours, they will vanish.”
