he asked. “Yes.” I yelled out as my stomach felt like something was ripping out of it. “Rayne it will only hurt for a minute I promise you.” Reese says, as he brushes my hair out of my face, and I shake my head yes to do whatever he needs to do to take the pain away. “Shift!” He says and it sounded like a command and the pain gets so intense that I think I’m going to pass out and I close eyes baring the pain but then the pain is gone.

It continued for what felt like a long time until, eventually, exhaustion took over and I finally fell asleep. --- When I woke up the next morning, the first thing I noticed was that the pain was gone. I slowly touched my chest, but there was nothing; the pain had completely disappeared. I let out a quiet breath of relief, grateful that whatever strange pain I had experienced during the night was finally gone.

“I’m sorry I can't do anything else” “It’s not your fault” I said, partly tired. At this point I could not wait for next week as the pain was coming closer together. Harder. I tried to breathe through them like they taught us in the classes. I flick open the cap and pour it all over my arm. Instantly, a harsh stinging kind of pain shoots up from my arm to the very tips of my toes. I groan and scream, watching the wound sizzle and steam. When it all clears up, I see that the skin is starting to patch itself for real. I sigh in relief, and slowly the pain starts to ebb away. My body relaxes, and I almost collapse on the floor. Somehow I manage to get myself into bed, believing that I will fall asleep due to the sudden release from the excruciating pain and the comfort of knowing I still healed myself. But what replaces the discomfort is an odd level of energy that I can’t seem to shake off.

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. As the day went on, the pains became less frequent and less intense. But every time one would strike, my mind would race with anxious thoughts. What if this was the start of something worse? What if I was going to be stuck with this pain forever? I tried to push these thoughts aside and distract myself with work and other tasks, but they kept coming back. The more I tried to ignore them, the more they persisted. Finally, as the day drew to a close, the pains seemed to disappear entirely. I breathed a sigh of relief, hoping that it had just been a passing phase.

Instinctively, I placed my hand on the area, hoping to alleviate the discomfort. To my relief, the pain subsided slightly, allowing me to catch my breath. I couldn't help but wonder what had caused this sudden discomfort. Had I strained a muscle during the night? Or was it something more serious? Taking a moment to gather myself, I carefully sat up, keeping my movements slow and deliberate. The pain lingered, but it wasn't as intense as before. I pondered my options. Should I call a doctor? I nod, then cry when the motion jolts my body, sending a stinging pain through my entrance. “I know, baby. I’m sorry. I thought it would be better to do it quickly than prolong the pain. Let me know when you’re ready for me to move.” Fresh tears stream down my face, and Adrian kisses every one of them away. Rubbing my back helps. A lot. Soon, the stretching burn fades into a dull, but almost pleasurable ache.

I should schedule an appointment with my doctor. The whole night was a cycle of pain and relief. I got at least an hour of sleep before the pain began again. It takes 30 minutes for the pain to go away. I slept as much as I could; falling asleep just as soon as the pain was fading. I don’t want to seem tired tomorrow. Kael might see me and give me more errands to run. It’s hard enough to do so when I’m fine but if I’m sick or sleepy, he’ll surely find a way to torture and humiliate me.
