[GRETTA’s Point-of-View] I winced. The throbbing pain in my head didn’t go away even after I took a pain reliever just to ease it. I couldn’t help but slump my body on the passenger seat while massaging my left temple, hoping that the pain would stop even for ten minutes.

I immediately straighten my posture and wipe grimaces from my face. I take advantage of his wait and dart him. I guess I have to take his support if I don't want people to find out about my weak state. Those hours long mopping and scrubbing replay in my head. Pain in my back started at that time, but I ignored it and now it has intensified. I thought rest will make it disappear. but it's not. I think I need some pain killers.

I clutched my burning body tight and screamed into the night. I can’t survive this, I thought as the pain worked its way all over me. I really can’t survive this. I passed out from the pain. It was just too much. When I woke the next morning, I was lying on the floor, still clutching my stomach. I stared at the time...10am. One dreadful thing about passing out was that the pain doesn't go away. It was as if they receded and laid in wait, then when I came back to awareness, they were back with a vengeance.

The ache pulses in waves, growing stronger with each passing second. “Ah—” I lean forward, my forehead nearly brushing my knees as I moan in pain. My hand instinctively moves to rub my temple, but it does nothing to ease the unbearable throb. The ringing intensifies, an unrelenting buzz that seems to reverberate inside my skull. Then, I feel it. Warm fingers press gently into my temple. I freeze at the unexpected touch, my heart skipping a beat, but the relief is immediate. The moment their fingertips make contact, the pain dissolves completely, as if it had never existed.

Mum cried out anxiously but I was not able to talk or move, the pain would increase with any slight movement of my body and I could only turn rigid to stop myself from moving. I closed my eyes and pursed my lips. Thirty seconds later, the pain started to recede and soon, it went away. I panted in exhaustion and wiped the sweat on my forehead with the back of my hand before turning to look at the anxious look on my Mom and Dad's face.

My face was tingling, along with my hands. "Shhhh, sweetheart I promise when we get home and you take a nap the pain will go away, you will wake up happier than you've ever been before." He whispered into my ear. The pain wasn't relenting. It was excruciating and I doubted it would go away anytime soon.

He doesn’t know how much time has passed by. His breath has become laborious in agony. Slowly, after what felt like it’s been hours, the pain starts to dwindle bit by bit. He heaves a sigh of relief and slumps on the bed weakly. His whole body is soaked in sweat. His hands and legs are still shaking as an after effect of what he has gone through a few seconds back. He is relieved that the new bout of pain has finally subsided.

“Help me… take the pain away.” “I can help you,” she said, stepping closer. “But if you continue to reject your power, the pain will return, again and again.” “I don’t understand any of this,” I sobbed. “I don’t care… just please make it stop.” Liora knelt before me. She raised her hand and gently touched my forehead. Instantly The pain vanished. Completely. I gasped, my body stiffening in shock as I pressed my hand against my stomach, my chest, searching for even the slightest trace of pain.

I'm sorry you have to hear this from me but all this pain is only a manifestation of memories you don't want to let go of. It isn't real. It isn't here. You don't want a memory block or I would have offered to do the procedure for you, again."
