The breeze picked up speed and soon it was like a mini tornado. Yet they kept on chanting. Soon I felt an intense pressure in my ear, like my eardrum was about to pop out, it was certainly uncomfortable. But it didn't last long. It was all over after some seconds and the pressure eased. The chanting stopped and my mate was back taking me into his arms again. The heat though began to stir up again and this time it was in my loins, the juncture between my legs began to burn hot. And I knew the only solution was him.

he yelled, remembering, his voice getting louder each time. He grabbed a clean towel from the nearby table and pressed it into my trembling hands. “Pinch your nose. Right here. Hard,” he guided my fingers to the soft part beneath the bridge. I tried to tilt my head back. “No, no, forward!” he corrected quickly, angling my head down. Blood dripped onto the towel, but at least now it wasn’t choking me. He ran to the kitchen, nearly slipped. In minutes, he returned. He handed me a bag of frozen peas, and pressed it carefully against the top of my nose.

My hands fly to my ears as loud popping and tearing sounds emanate from his body before it starts to contort, folding in on itself. Holy shit. What the hell is happening to his body?

My feet grow heavier as if something is tied to my ankles, slowing me down and holding me back. Despite my efforts to get rid of the insect, it creeps inside my ear, slowly inching its way into my my left eardrum. A pop sounds in my ear, and hot liquid pours out. That’s when it hits me—the pain. I scratch my ear with a frantic need to get the insect out of it. It’s creeping inside my head. I can feel it there, curling up, biting into my flesh, making me bleed. I scream, my nails digging into my ear. The pain sinks me to my knees and steals my ability to process what’s happening.

I heard a small ringing noise in my ear and then voices. The voices would get louder for one second and just suddenly get very low. My breathing was leveled and my eyes were closed. I felt a dull pain in my throat and my body felt heavy. In a few seconds, I opened my eyes slowly and the light blinded my vision. It did not take long and my eyes adjusted to the light around me and I realized that I was in a room. I was not far from the window and the bed I was on was not too comfortable.

My nostrils begin to sting with the potent smell of antiseptic with undertones of artificial fragrances like soap and… cleaning products. Groaning, I lift my hand to wipe the tip of my nose that burns from breathing and I feel something sharp stabbing my arm, restricting my movements. What the…oh, fuck… my head. Why is it pounding, and why are my ears fucking ringing? “Miss Bishop, can you please open your eyes?” An unfamiliar voice reaches me through the darkness that continues to cling to me. Clenching my jaw, I sigh and slowly begin to peel back my eyelash curtains to unveil my throbbing eyes. Squinting, I try to open them wider, fighting against the bright white light that hangs over me,

Pain shot down my spine as my vision went a little blurry. "What the fuck did you just say to me?!" I had little air, but I forced out my reply. "You. Heard. Me." And those three simple words were all it took to send Milo off the deep end. He brought his head back and then connected his forehead with my nose. A loud popping sound came from my nose as the room spun and an excruciating pain verberated into my skull. My arms released from his as I lost control of them for a moment.

The man she least wanted to see. She was in too much panic that she was able to push the door, shutting it close with all her might. The loud thudding sound of the wooden floor hitting something else could be heard. Seconds later, It was Shane’s turn to yell in pain. “AGH!” It was a painful shriek followed by a banging sounds on the door. “You! Why are you so violent? Shit! My nose is bleeding!” Shane’s voice sounded wheezy because of nosebleed.

The noise was fading but what if it came back? The doctor didn’t push further. He exchanged a few low words with Ethan, too quiet for me to catch. Then he gave me a polite nod and left the room. Ethan turned back to me and walked closer. He sat on the edge of the bed, reaching for my hand, and I let him take it. His fingers were warm and firm around mine, and I welcomed the touch. “The loud noise from the explosion affected your inner ear,” he explained, his voice softer than usual but still carrying that familiar chill. “That’s why you were hearing the ringing. If it continues, you’ll need to see the doctor again.”

Tears filled my eyes i'mmediately while my ears rung piercely in my head. I absentmindedly wondered whether my nose wasn't broken.. it sure hurt like hell. I reeled back but then before I could gather myself, bright lights all of the sudden flashed in my vision only for a second then a white cloth was slapped on my face. It blocked off my nose, mouth and eyes.
