he yelled, remembering, his voice getting louder each time.
He grabbed a clean towel from the nearby table and pressed it into my trembling hands.
“Pinch your nose. Right here. Hard,” he guided my fingers to the soft part beneath the bridge.
I tried to tilt my head back.
“No, no, forward!” he corrected quickly, angling my head down.
Blood dripped onto the towel, but at least now it wasn’t choking me.
He ran to the kitchen, nearly slipped.
In minutes, he returned. He handed me a bag of frozen peas, and pressed it carefully against the top of my nose.
