Elijah I arrived at the office with English in tow and greeted the staff. Maria tried to pet English, who very quickly let her know that her advances were unwelcome. I was shocked, to say the least, but then again, look at who his mother is. “Dr. Parker, you probably shouldn’t allow that woman’s dog to come to the office if he is going to be volatile. He could be a liability to the practice,” she sneered. “Um, I’m sorry. Don’t you have a two-week notice to be putting in?” I asked, feigning confusion.

Lucas' POV I stared at him, surprised. "Who bloody cares about their timeline?" I snapped. "I'm the Alpha of the damn pack." "As the Alpha, you shouldn't forget that the auction school belongs to Alpha Kael of the Black water pack," He said with a shrug. "Its literally his biggest investment here and if you think he will let you mess with it, you're joking."

It's a couple of hours before lunch, so I head downstairs with my mates in tow. On the back patio, I see the pups gathered in groups or playing in the playground behind the house. I approach some of the older ones and ask which packs they belong to. I learn they are from the Cold Mountain Pack, Emerald Lands Pack, and Green Forest Pack. Once everyone finishes eating, I ask them to gather around. As they stand before me on the back porch, I raise my hands to quiet them.

I often wondered how my father was able to tame Knight. He said it took years of practice, but my wolf is more stubborn than his. I see Alex more like Kaira, my mother's wolf.
