Paperwhite Versus Kindle Novels & Stories

He was almost to his bunkhouse before he could no longer hear the indignant ranch hand’s muffled outbursts over his interruption. He walked back into the bunk with his hands in his pockets and his shoulders shrugged. Even if she was cleaned up and dolled up considerably, there was no way that pretty little whore in the bunkhouse was the Paper Widow. The whore was a right pretty little thing, but she in no way possessed the aristocratic beauty of the Paper Widow.

"We've made several copies already. Enough, in fact, to fill countless bookshelves." I took the paper, its texture rough and earthy, a stark contrast to the pristine, polished sheets I was accustomed to seeing in the capital or at Brightwing Academy. It was the color of rich, dark soil, as if steeped in mud or coffee, a testament to its humble origins. Yet, despite its unassuming appearance, the paper was surprisingly durable. Anything written upon it remained clear and legible, a testament to its practicality.

“Anyway, I thought you should get your pick, you know? Whatever you want. It’s a Kindle, and there’s a lifetime subscription already on it. I figured it would be useful because you’re always carrying around those heavy stacks of books and needing help with carrying them around.” “You noticed that?” I asked, watching him with disbelief. “Yes. So I just thought this would be more convenient for you. Easier on your arms and everything.” I couldn’t help but smile at first, until reality hit. I stared closer at it in the dark and realized it looked really expensive. I had seen it listed on A****n a few times, when I would wistfully window shop for book-nerd things that I could never hope to affor

Professor Watson explained, “the price of the printed version is the same as before, 88 dollars each. As for the electronic version, I priced it at 55 dollars. I originally thought that their prices were not much different and students would choose the printed version.” "I would also consider buying an electronic version." Hazel thought for a while and continued, “It is indeed cheaper." "Professor, since you have made an electronic version, why have you printed so many printed versions? After all, many people like cheaper things." Vanessa said jokingly. Joshua frowned. If Vanessa had not come in with Professor Watson, he would not even let her in. She had repeatedly tried to provoke Hazel, a

It was only a brief moment, but I would recognize that tattoo anywhere. On the left peck of the man's chest, swirling ink formed a huge snowflake with a snarling wolf. I knew that picture. It was the sigil of house Caldore. I had seen it in books and read about it in stories. The older witches whispered it in the tales they told my village at night. Wolves with hearts as cold as ice and skin that snow melts upon. I was in Northwood, and what was worse was that I knew the man who was rummaging angrily through the books in his room. I should have realized it the moment I saw his glowing blue eyes.

“I really hadn’t thought about it yet. Usually Sundays are a double shift in the diner. Ummm, I don’t know. Library maybe?” “Melinda and I went yesterday, Mama. Oh, she got you this,” Maddie runs into the living room and picks up a small black device. It’s about 3x the size of a phone and Maddie runs back over to me. “It’s a kindle. She said you have an unlimited account now so you can read whatever you want to. And it’s already connected to the library, so you don’t have to go there to check out digital books. Just pick one and it’ll d******d. Although it does still have a limit on how many books you can have ‘checked out’ at one time. I’ve got one too, but I wanted to have a few actual boo

(I'm sorry to leave you with the old version, but I preferred not to get rid of the originals! Overall, reading the physical version of a book is always a more rewarding and comfortable experience. With that in mind I decided to publish the physical version of the book for those who feel that way too. Unfortunately, paper and ink are expensive. Anyway, hope you enjoy my work. By buying the book on a****n you will be helping me finish the second volume faster!

Challenged him. Why was she here? She found herself considering how to leave. Politely. He grinned. “What I mean is the life is different when the body, the book, is, what, a computer tablet? A teeny-tiny phone?” A long sigh. “Pages, real pages, have a hunger to them. A need that isn’t answered when you push a button or, well, whatever it is you do with a whatchamacallit.” “A Kindle.” “Right. A Kindle. Books are greedy to be read. They’re desperate. That electronic stuff?” He shrugged. “It doesn’t have the feel of the page. It can’t feast on your senses. Your hopes. Your dreams.” A pause as he watched her. “You see?”

I could still feel it under my skin—like a signature, like a promise, like the moment a match thinks about being struck and decides it wants to be fire. “Paper,” I said softly, the word leaving a temporary fog on the window. “Promises.” And because I refused, on principle, to be the first to look away, I stood and let the city look back until dawn found us both.
