"Come on, now." They continued walking down the street until they got to an old bookstore. It was small and rustic, and old place that was hardly standing on its own now but it was Rosie's favourite in Paris. She could spend all day scanning the shelves or sitting outside on the little outdoor dining tables with a book in hand. Rosie sat down at one of the tables while Anthony walked across the street to get them some coffee. She opened a new book that had been propped underneath her arm, falling into whatever new universe this book would consume her into.

RED POV The city was a physical assault on the senses. After nearly two years of an island defined by the rhythmic shush of waves and the scent of salt and hibiscus, Paris was a symphony of chaos. The air was a thick, moving tapestry of exhaust fumes, roasting chestnuts, and the faint, sweet perfume of a woman who passed too close. The sound was a cacophony of car horns, distant sirens, and the murmur of a thousand conversations in a dozen languages. It was overwhelming, a deluge of sensory information that my cataloguing instinct could not immediately process.

I shake my head with a smile. "No, I wouldn't." "She has a mind of her own." Adrian replies with a shrug of his shoulders. Turning back to them, he continues their discussion. I don't want to be engaged in their conversation, I just want to stay on my own for now. The beautiful city is all I need to keep myself busy, the aesthetic trees, infrastructures and fashion houses along the road are indeed splendid. One thing I've been hearing of Paris is their love for fashion and their great taste. We've passed about eight fashion houses so far.

The next day, Jean-Baptiste picked me up in a vintage car, looking even more handsome in casual clothes. "Ready for real Paris?" he asked. "As ready as I'll ever be." He took me to a bookshop that was part library, part café, part time capsule. Books in French and English covered every surface. Readers sprawled in chairs, sipping coffee and completely absorbed. "This place is magical," I breathed. "Yes. I come here when I need to remember why I love this city." He ordered us coffees. "So, American girl. What brings you to Paris looking so sad?"

the tourist commented. Dmitri smiled and replied with a nod, "Yes, it is. If you are looking for a quintessentially Parisian experience, then it is hard to outdo this Book Café which effortlessly bridges old and new," he answered. “You seem new here. How did you notice about this quiet place ?” he asked intrigued. "I read about it in the tourist guide," his companion replied. "It was one of the hotspots on the list, which seems to be a favourite hangout spot for some of the town's most respected luminaries, artists, and intellectuals for over a century."
