Her wailing continued once the door closed, though it was muffled. One of the remaining therapists, a dark-haired male whose wire rimmed glasses made him look shrewd and analyzing, seemed more than willing to drop a client or two for the Luna’s younger sister. I might’ve hired him off his resume alone if it weren’t for the onyx shade of his hair and the severe way he pursed his lips, both of which reminded me of my father. If the sight could send me tumbling backwards through time, back to that bloody battlefield, then I wondered what it would do to Holly.

Instead of letting those questions bother me; I took in a deep breath and waited fearlessly for the door to be pushed open. I wasn’t alone. I had my wolves. I had Dalton’s parents with me. I could feel their spirits watching over me. The door knob twisted and then, the door was pushed open and a person walked inside. He was an associate of the Moon Howlers. He smelled like them. Was he a warlock too? It was someone oddly familiar though. I felt like I knew him. I could recognize this person but where did I see him? Do I know him? I hadn’t realized that I’d been staring at him and trying hard to remember where I’d seen him until someone cleared their throat to gain my attention. It was him.

Something that would take away the emotion twisting at my throat even if I lacked faith, I could always hope. "Petrina Memorial? Isn't that an awfully close place to be right now?" I knew it. He would disappoint. Just like he disappointed Laura. I clenched my first in regret and decided to end the call but just then and there, he said something. "I hope you aren't lying though. It wouldn't fun to sue another woman." Did he give in? It didn't register within me. He was a terrible person. Why would he out the blues choose to help?

I had finished reading and was prepared…somewhat. The car was more luxurious than the one I had ridden previously. The same man was on the driver’s seat again. There was another man whose name was James. He was probably a gamma. I let out a small sign as I decided to look at the file, just to occupy myself. Today, I was woken up by Clarissa, the file still in my hand and she had been worried that I would suffer pain in my neck because of how I had fallen asleep. The radio silence from Isaac felt odd but welcoming. I don’t think I could have tolerated his presence after that little incident.

He asks looking over my schedule. "Yes." I nod, whispering. "Oh, then don't worry about that book I took that class last year. I'm sure he will be using the same edition. He normally goes through the same book edition for three years straight." we all glance at him in silence making him smile. "How do you always get so informed about the professors, Russell? I didn't even know that." Hailey squints her eyes and turns to the back grabbing an envelope full of blank quizz forms.

And the clothes that he had on when he got here were on the dresser. Picking it up, I looked through the pockets just to see if he traveled with anything. "You know what Daisy, I will leave the offer open to you…think of the whole lot of things you can do with twenty billion dollars." Wade Roberto's voice was laced with concern. "I mean…your Dad can be the founder and CEO of the great Hunter's Empire, but imagine the feeling of knowing that you turned a billionaire without Daddy's help." With that said, Wade Roberto dismissed Daisy Hunter. As she left, Wade Roberto crossed his legs on the mahogany and smirked. "Daisy Hunter will come around, I'm certain of it." He whispers to himself. Moments later…. Daisy Hunter is packing her bags to retire home.

Xavier: The reports scattered across my desk blurred together, numbers, treaties, trade updates, none of them holding my attention for longer than a few seconds. My focus was divided, sharp and heavy, the way it always got when something felt off. And though I tried to push the feeling away, I was no fool, if my wolf was reacting then something was going on. I just didn’t know what it was. Hunter stood across from me, the late morning light cutting through the office blinds and streaking across his face. He looked tired, but then again, we all did.

The Walther stared right at her forehead. Her eyes followed his thumb as it pulled the safety pin. A cold sweat dripped down her neck. Her left hand was a few inches away from the pocket knife in her jacket and all she had to do was reach for it without raising any suspicion. Easy, right? The only problem was she realized this guy was not just any crazed Tom, Dick, or Harry that needed some quick cash or anything else to that.

I just searched frozen. She stopped by the dresser and ran her fingers along its edge. “You’re actually beautiful. That’s going to piss off more people than you think. Trust me, there were many bidding on you looking ugly. Some even said that you look like a troll.” I finally found my voice. “And you are…? I'm sorry, but I didn't expect you to come inside my room to just tell me that I looked. Well…” “Madeline,” she said, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “Second daughter of Beta Reinhart. Technically ranked, practically ignored. I'm more of a subtle kind of woman. I choose to at least lighten the mood. I know that you might be having a hard time.”
