Curious, Olivia followed his gaze and gasped softly, her heart dropping at the sight. Nestled near a small cluster of bushes, nearly hidden among the leaves and twigs, was a tiny, trembling puppy. Its fur was a matted mess, and its small paw appeared to be caught painfully in the tangles of underbrush. The poor creature was whimpering softly, its cries echoing the heart-wrenching distress in its eyes, which glimmered with fear and longing for help. The sight tugged at Olivia’s heart, urging her to act as Sebastian’s expression shifted from calm to concern.

She saw colorful fish darting in and out of the coral, and schools of silver fish swimming in perfect formation.
