He laughed to himself. There was a slight breeze in the meadow. She looked down and saw his chocolate colored fur. She snuggled into him but something was different. She looked and saw the auburn fur on her paws. She was a wolf! She closed her eyes and relaxed. She was where she belonged, and all was right with the world, for the moment.

Determination painted her expression and even from my vantage, I could see her nails extend into claws. The Alpha of Red Stone ordered his soldiers to attack, but as his men lept in her direction, it was clear that they were no match for the dark-haired warrior. Roxy was so swift that she was like a shadow. She maneuvered around the soldiers and attacked them so deftly that they didn’t even have a chance to shield themselves. They fell prey to her attacks and died immediately when she ripped apart their necks in one easy motion.

It seems they have spoken about this subject already. "Step up as Dior's luna, the second in command, and lead the Winterbite pack while he is gone. Everyone has seen you fight, and thanks to Wesley, they have learned you are Dior's mate. The entire pack deems you worthy of becoming their luna, and even Riley and Brad think you possess the qualities needed to protect our grounds." Riley snorts, her arms locked underneath her chest. Roxy sneers while rolling her eyes. Sabrina knows that with my word, Roxy can tear her down like a grizzly bear. Roxy, right now, is like a lioness. She's eyeing her prey closely, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce on it and devour it mercilessly. Sabrina turns to me and begs to be heard.

Roxy’s gasp catches my attention and I look up just in time to see her drop to her knees on the ground, sucking in air as if she’s been underwater. Her hands spread out and claws burst from her fingers. She lifts her head and howls at the moon, pouring everything inside her into the night. More howls answer her. One, then another and then many more, until the forest feels like it’s alive and the sound surrounds me, vibrating through my bones. Roxy howls again, but it cuts off abruptly and when she starts sniffing. Her head turns slowly in my direction. “That sounds good. If will give you time to recover. Has Roxie been talking to you?” ‘I’m still here Rebs. I will be ready for Harris when he gets here. With you resting and taking care of yourself, it’s taking some pressure off me.’ Roxie says. ‘I’m sorry Rox. I know you have a lot on your plate right now.’ I tell my wolf. ‘We need to resolve these threats Rebs. It will keep our pups safe.’ I look at Austin, “Roxie says she will be ready for Harris. She wants to get rid of any threats so the pups are safe.”

It stopped her and started barking at her. It was her pet dog, Roxy. Violet lowered herself to the ground and placed her hand on the fluffy white fur. Roxy belonged to the Samoyed dog breed. She was full of energy and playfulness. Feeling her touch, Roxy lowered her head. Her tail wagged excitedly as she was getting affection from her owner. The thickness of her snow-white coat ensured that she remained warm at all times, even during the winter. "Did you miss me?" Violet asked.

"Hey, girl! Make some breakfast, will you? And take the day off, both of you. I'm declaring a Roxanne day!" Willow's eyes widened in surprise. "But, Ma'am Roxy, I don't know..." Porsha chimed in, "Actually, Ma'am Roxy, I don't think that's a good idea. My job is to keep you safe and track your whereabouts. I can't do that if I'm not working." Roxanne smiled mischievously. "Porsha, do you have friends?" Porsha hesitated. "Well, I have one friend." Roxanne's grin widened. "Go visit your friend, then! Take the day off. You deserve it."

My nails were almost biting on its skin, but I controlled myself to not cause it to be more aggravated than it already was. “Fluffy, stop!” I yelled when I caught its name on the roof. Anya gave that name. Indeed, he was fluffy but a monstrous fluffy pet! I groaned in irritation. “Hmmm! Unicorn, stop!” Still not listening! “Siberian, stop!... Doggy! Dammit, you monster dog, get off me!” My frantic thrashing and kicking beneath the beast was no use. It didn’t give me another chance to scream again when its tongue tried forcing my mouth open. I grabbed a fistful of its fur and used my remaining strength to keep the distance.
