He married and had a daughter before he and his wife died." Mikhail's heart pounded in his chest. "Who is this daughter?" Lucifer's voice was cold as ice. "April Lopez. Her father is the man who killed our family."

Suddenly he remembered shooting the girl in the hotel who had asked him for the drive he was holding. But then another young man who had paralyzed his hands and legs had taken the drive from him and had called the girl he shot ‘ his girl ’ And now this man who had weird red eyes is claiming the girl as his woman. "So, have you discovered anything new about the humans recently? What are they up to?" Lucifer inquired, his voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and mischief. Lucinda's eyes gleamed with hidden knowledge as she responded, her voice filled with intrigue.

Before I could register those words in my head, the closet doors opened and I saw a nightmare standing in front of me, clad in battle gear and a sadistic smile. “Ruby of the Blue Sky…” I hated the way he said those words so smoothly. I hated that he could clearly see my teary eyes and trembling body. “Come out now. I’ve won the game.” He spoke in a lighthearted manner as he reached out to me politely. Alpha Lucian Pierce was his name. But the one I and every other person in the Werewolf Realm knew him as was ‘The Dark Devil.’

Lucien stood firm, his sword raised, and his eyes blazing with determination. Lucien: "Your treachery ends here, Pierce. Your actions have consequences, and you will pay for your betrayal." With a swift swing of his sword, Lucien engaged Pierce in a fierce duel. Sparks flew as their blades clashed, and Lucien fought with all his skill and strength. Khal joined the battle, using his vampire powers to weaken Pierce and support Lucien. Khal: "This is the end for you, Pierce. Your ambitions have led you astray, and you have lost." Pierce's eyes widened in defeat, realizing that his plans had crumbled around him. He looked up at Khal with a mix of shock and resignation.

The silence felt wrong. Pierce felt weirdly unsettled by it. He opened Lucia's chat and realized almost every message had been from her. He'd barely replied. And he'd never messaged first. His finger slowed as he scrolled through the old chats. After a while, he searched by date and opened the conversation from the day he'd first added her. Pierce still remembered falling for Lucia first. At the university welcome party, she'd worn a white dress while hosting as the freshman rep. The second he saw her, that elegant figure burned itself into his mind.

I slipped them on, then stepped out and faced the mirror opposite the bed. A smile tugged at my lips. Oh, how long I’d wanted a pair of capri pants. For a moment, my inner child exhaled. “Dinner.” The word cut through my joy, sharp and precise. I jerked toward the door, my chest tightening with fear. Lucifer stood there. A shirt clinging to his frame, gray sweatpants hanging low and effortless. The white shirt fabric traced the hard planes of his chest, the swell of muscle beneath, the angles of his shoulders. Sleeves hugged his forearms, outlining the cords of muscle and vein with crazy precision.

Vania’s smile doesn’t reach her eyes. I squint, like the answer is tattooed on her face. Meanwhile, Pierce reminds us of his unfortunate existence. “Ladies. Right hand? Summon?” He laughs, loud and grating. I want to flick his forehead and make him hurt, but I’m starting to feel a frisson of worry for this fool. “Are you guys into LARPing or . . .” He finally shuts up. Because when Vania turns to him, no trick of the light could hide the purple hue of her eyes. Nor her long, perfectly white fangs, gleaming under the electric lights.
