The runes glowed green again. The gasses in the jars broke, releasing scents of marshmallows and smoky ash into the air. Matei's mouth opened, the darkness from him seeped out of his body as his golden sliver of a soul rose out of his silent scream. As soon as the darkness left him, his horrified scream filled my ears. I clamped my hands to my ears. The forest flickered with darkness. Matei's body fell into a heap. The body vanished for a single instant and was replaced by one in white scrubs and dark hair. T

He sees me smiles and responds mischievously. "No, I'm fine at the moment," I nod and leave even more nervous than when I entered. I walk into the kitchen and into the office, where Pit has another order list in hand. “What's up Nisha?” he asks when he sees my face. “Who is Dark?” I ask, what happens next alarms me. The list falls from her hands and the color in her face vanishes completely, she opens her eyes wide and says in barely a whisper. “Where have you heard that name?” I hesitate for a moment.

The more she struggles the more she shrinks. 'Ariz!' 'Ariz!' 'Ariz!' 'Ariz!' 'Ariz!' "Look here little Ariz, look at me." He said. "Look into my eyes and let go..." He said using a hypnotic voice. "Good..." 'Ariz!' 'Ariz! Snap out of it!' She wanted to roll her eyes. Stupid ghost! How is she supposed to snap if her body is paralyzed? She can't even look away! His violet eyes mesmerizing her and she's slowly getting compelled.

Dad grabbed the nurse, throwing her out of the room alongside himself. "Well-done, Emily, you have accomplished your mission." A sinister scent emerged, a wicked laugh echoing across the room. The once blue sky was now a mixture of black and white with the moon reflecting its radiant image. Wails filled the air as a ray of light fell from the sky, hitting a mountain on the other side of town. I groaned, wincing as my hand was scorched by the flaming book. The pages settled, words in red appearing on the pages. "Strigoi, Nosferatu, Jiangshi…"

The witches closed in, their laughter echoing like a chorus of nightmares. Something inside Aqua snapped. A surge of dark energy, unfamiliar and terrifying, welled up within her. She felt her pendant grow hot against her skin, the clear crystal turning black as smoke. The air around her crackled with raw power as she turned back towards the attackers, her fear morphing into a blinding rage.

He covered her in bedsheets and grabbed his phone. "I want you to leave some cockroaches and rats in that house... Make sure they are wild" He ordered on his phone. "And don't forget to play scary sounds and create illusions of ghosts... I want to hear terrifying screams in the recording..." He smirked maniacally while disconnecting the call. Aria was going to have the most terrible time of her life. He called someone else. "The name is Aurora Diaz, find out how many interviews she gave after coming out of the college and I need all details of those men..."

“We’ll talk later.” I sighed and let myself fall onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I wasn’t alone in that house. Something—or someone—was watching me. Suddenly, I felt it. That strange sensation of being watched. I slowly sat up in bed, sharpening my hearing. A creak in the hallway? A whisper behind the door? My heart began to race. Then I saw it. Two yellow eyes glowed from the darkest corner of the room. A black shape moved within the shadows, and for a second, a shiver ran down my spine.

"Come on! Is this all the Dark Sigen has? A bunch of old stories and a broken nose?" The man's face twisted into something completely demonic, inhuman. The veins around his black eyes went bright green, pulsing with an unnatural light that seemed to come from somewhere deep and terrible. Rage radiated from him in waves, making the very air shimmer with malevolent energy. "You want to see what we have, hybrid? Fine. Let's see how much your spirit can handle." He didn't swipe his hand this time. He simply opened his mouth and released a high-pitched, deafening psychic shriek that vibrated directly inside my brain, bypassing my ears entirely and attacking my consciousness itself.

She was a legend people either feared or pretended not to know. And Blackwood had witches. Hybrid, lunatic, chicken-blooded witches who could sniff secrets out of bones and dreams. “Vivienne Moreau,” he called, voice sharper now, and deliberate. “Open the damn door.” Yep. That was it. Funeral bells. End credits. Roll the fucking montage. I can see my family calling me to join them in hell. “Damn you, Atlas Blackwood,” I muttered under my breath, pacing once, twice, then stopping dead.

The runes ignited, threads of light weaving up her arms and into the Mark. The air thickened. The ground trembled. And from the shadows at the edge of the room, something stirred — not an Echo, but something worse. Figures began to form — twisted silhouettes of men and beasts, remnants of those the Black Moon had touched. They moved like smoke and screamed like memory. Zevran’s blade flashed. “Here we go again.” He fought without hesitation, cutting through shadows that reformed as fast as he struck them. Each one that fell fed the light around Kaelira’s spell, fueling her strength.
