Places We've Never Been Novels & Stories

We were even in conversion classes so that we could become baptized. We learned that we are humans and that humans are bound to sin because we are not perfect. However, we refrain from the ones we can control like murder or theft. We got delivered by a priest. We decided the raise our children in the proper way and not like the life we left in. Did I also not mention that we moved countries? We also moved to Bali, liked what we wanted, and learned the language. Life here is peaceful and beautiful, with so many amazing places to visit and we can still travel the world like we wanted to. However, two places we will never go to again are Italy and America.

Somewhere Damien has been before and thinks I will like. I have a list in my head of places I have always wanted to go. Places I mentioned to Daniel over the years that never made it past the planning stage because there was always something else, always a reason to wait, always next year. The list is not short. At the airport we do not go through the normal terminal. We drive directly onto the tarmac and there is a plane waiting and it is small and white and private and I stand beside the car and look at it and Damien comes to stand beside me.

“Iam guessing we landed on some Parallel universe. When we go back, no one will believe us we visited a parallel universe.” “There’s no use in imagining. How do you think we are going to make it back?” Maddy says. We all stayed silent. I think I was wasting time worrying about some silly problems in my life. I should have enjoyed my life rather than complaining now. I don’t even know whether I get a chance to see my parents again or get a normal life like others. “What’s done is done. From tomorrow we are going to find clues about this unknown place. That’s all I can think of. Now, who wants to sleep and forget about all this?” Chris said.

“Lucky you.” Aminah and Aulia stared at the plane tickets for a second longer than necessary. Their throats bobbed critically, eyes full of desire. For the two worlds – Upperworld and Underworld – The Unknown was like their biggest dream. Not many knew how The Unknown operated and how mysterious it was. The concern was similar to The Unknown. Not many had the leeway to visit the other worlds as it required a lot of processes. Even Lily couldn’t easily visit the other worlds without a valid reason.

Luca nodded, and he took a deep breath. “Luca. I've never seen that cave... We've traveled before when we were teenagers. We have visited all realms, even the Theta realm is the place where we have left the most of our footprints. How is it possible that we have never seen such a big cave?” Rio asked in surprise.

I ask him, he furrow his brows in confusion, stops chewing for like a second, making the food go to one side of his cheek making him look cute. "Wait, you don't want to go on a vacation?" He ask. The thing is, I hope it's land transportation because I've never been to a ship nor a plane. I didn't go out when I was with my parents, I've never been outside of the country before. But, there was a time when we went to Miami but it was still land TP. I think that's the only time I've been away from home.

She asked. “No.” They chorused and shook their heads. She could see they were serious, they were telling the truth. They really don't know her, how the hell is that possible? “Okay. The last one, Australia.” She said and they looked at each other confused. “Is she just mentioning random countries?” Kaylee muttered. “We have never been there.” Kaylen said. “Yeah, never.” Kaylee added and they both looked at her. Clara’s eyes widened in shock. How the hell is that possible? They have never been to Australia? They grew up there! How the hell don't they know that?

I had stopped pretending my body did not respond. The castle had its rhythms, and we learned them well. We knew when the western gallery lay empty in the late afternoon, when the chapel steps were abandoned beneath the pretense of prayer, when the servants’ stairs echoed just enough to warn us of approaching footsteps. Those places became ours—not because we claimed them, but because we returned to them again and again, drawn by something neither of us dared to name aloud. We did not speak of the wedding.
