I lived it and lived it to the fullest in the one year only- when she was with me. Beside me, holding my hand. Lying by me at night.

'He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much; Who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; Who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; Who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty or failed to express it; Who has left the world better than he found it, Whether an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul; Who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; Whose life was an inspiration; Whose memory a benediction. After Dunley had had a few drinks down his gullet, inspiration struck him right away, prompting him to recite a poem loudly on the spot. "From our ranks the storm and cloud unfurled; one step taken into the martial world, and time like wind drives every boy to man. Empire and power? A laugh, a passing plan. For life itself is but a drunken blur, a fleeting dream no heart can hold for sure.

Despite that she was drunk, she felt he deserved to know. "Loosen yourself up. Because life has so much to offer. Tomorrow isn't promise. One can fall ill, or Godforbid, die anytime. So why not live life to the fullest, now that you have the chance to?"
