Ash surged forward, sleek and massive, fur like smoke and coal. He hit the earth with a growl, shaking it loose beneath his paws. He ran. Not away from her. But to remember who we were without fear. We ran until the stars blurred. Until my lungs burned.

You seem like someone who has spent too much time chasing their destiny. A tiny smile tightened her lips, but she remained silent. Now their issues were more serious. The sharp peaks of the Ashen Spires towered in the distance as she looked beyond the horizon. As though sensing her uncertainty, the shard pulsed softly in her backpack. As the sun began to set, the sky turned scarlet and amber, and they paused to rest. Zara discovered a safe haven behind a crooked tree, its twisted branches extending like skeletal fingers into the darker sky.

Just then, a small head peeked through the suffocating smoke. “Madam, do you need any help?” someone asked timidly. I forced my eyes open and saw a young boy who was about the same age as my son. He was covered in ash and dirt, but his eyes shone brightly through the smoke. He was so small in size, yet he managed to muster the strength to help me up. Then, together, we slowly made our way outside. The path to the outside was incredibly challenging, and I felt like giving up several times.

Kiera continues to speak softly to Jasper, “Do you want to ruin Ashina’s birthday? Could you wait to kill the Lizard boy tomorrow when it is not Ashina’s birthday.” What sounded like a wolf's laugh came barreling out of Jasper, “okay I will wait to kill the lizard boy tomorrow.” Wrinkling his forehead, Jasper asks, “Who is another Lizard boy? Maybe I will kill him too.” Kiera growled at Jasper, “That is Gandor, that is Ashina’s and my brother. Touch a hair on his head and I will reject you. Do you get that? Now bring back Andor, so Ashina may celebrate her birthday.”

Dillian questions. “Asher,” he responds. So, Ash is his nickname. I am proud of him for not stuttering. “Well, Asher the lion cub, do you want to learn kenjutsu?” Dillian asks him. Ash’s face lights up as he nods empathically. This kid makes me miss my son. No one will replace the child I lost, but that doesn’t mean I cannot open my heart to other children. A voice called to me from the other side of the misty grotto. “Ash, come here Ash” her voice was like velvet as it called out to me, beckoning me to come forward. The mist cleared, swarming at my feet, pushing me towards the woman.

Bright took a huge breath as he clutched the omamori inside his pocket.

They then ran into Hawks and Phantom Dragon on the way. Two people were fighting ahead of them. One of them was Ash, who wielded three swords. He was facing off against two swordsmen from Thailand at that moment. The entire street was filled with highly concentrated blade energy. “Dance of a Thousand Years.” Ash leaped up, his three swords slashing down in a cutting motion followed by flashes of sword light. Dance of a Thousand Years was a move that Tyr Summers had taught Ash. And now, with his inner strength, he had practiced it to the point where he achieved perfection.

She wished there would be an ancestral interference but that was just a figment of her imagination. Ash came back to Frost's view and continued to run fast, pretending Myan was still with him so they wouldn't stop over to attack her. He turned around so he could be closer to the brine. He knew if he focused on the building, it would distract Frost and he could leave peacefully with Myan. Otherwise, Frost would not give up. Targeting at the foundation of the brine, Ash knew this had to require every power in him. Frost was closing in with his spirit animal and things needed speed.
