All agents at Exodus have practiced snipers a lot; I can set it up in less than a minute. I leaned back onto the metal railings as I waited for the elevator to stop. I took a sip from my black coffee while looking up at the numbers impatiently. Once the elevator stopped, I made my way out. My boots clicked onto the tiles as I walked to the far end of the hall where the door to the rooftop is at. Upon opening the metal doors, the strong wind pushed through. My hair swayed with the cool air. My lips parted as I took a deep breath. The view here at dusk is beautiful. There were so many buildings in the area. The sun had already set in the horizon, leaving the sky with a trace of pink and orange

"Is there a roof?" "Oh, yes," she said, tapping the IV bag. "The building goes up to fifteen floors. There is a garden on the roof for the long-term patients. Once you can stand, I can take you up there. The view of the city is incredible. You can see everything from up there." I closed my eyes and let out a long, slow breath. The pain in my ribs was duller now, replaced by a strange, sharp clarity. "I think I would like to see that view very much."

Ever the performer, Darrell explained, “These panels you see on the sides atop floors thirteen through eighteen aren’t cosmetic. They’re solar panels. A younger suit with prescription glasses underneath the 3D ones, grumbled, “You can’t have a thirteenth floor. It’s bad luck.” The werewolves tried very hard not to throttle the superstitious numb-nut. They held their tongues, a flicker of tension in their necks betraying them, but the humans didn’t notice since the 3D rooftop with walking, exercise path, and patio seating, currently had them rapt. Danny smiled. “We’ll go from twelve to fourteen, of course. That was a slip of the tongue.”

Max's POV "Waahhh, you got here earlier than I did, GUCCI. I'm flattered," my eyes caught Sky's form as he walks towards my location. The rooftop was big with sections that are hidden, but somehow, we ended up having a spot we regularly stay with. Besides, it's very rare to see someone stay at the rooftop since most of the people living in this building are families. Or if there are some, I'm thankful we don't see them the same time we are here because that will be weird.

Fairy lights strung overhead, heaters glowing orange against the cool December air, the skyline of downtown LA glittering like a promise the city rarely kept. Music pulsed low, a mix of old-school R&B and new indie beats. Champagne flowed freely, and the crowd was a perfect blend of industry insiders, actors trying to look casual, and friends who’d flown in from everywhere.

He arrived at the elevator and slipped in, heading to the rooftop bar situated atop the building. He stepped out of the elevator and into the sleek modern setting of The Eclipse rooftop bar, surrounded by the open night sky. The city skyline unfolded before him, a breathtaking canvas of twinkling city lights stretching 360 degrees. Waist-high glass railings provided an unobstructed view, while comfortable outdoor seating areas and stylish lounge furniture invited relaxation.

’ I mind-link Ryne sitting across from me. ‘I’ll tussle with the nice gentleman on the first row.’ He smirks. I nod and get up, exiting the rear of the cart. I make it to the connecting piece and begin my climb. The metal ladder squeaks under my weight, but it’s welded on so I can see it’s secure. As soon as I make it to the top, a shovel is swung towards my head. I swing back, almost losing my balance. I peek up to see another guy on the rooftop of the cabin. A vampire who winks and welcomes me onto the rooftop.

Dante's POV I fidgeted nervously on the rooftop as I waited for Cassandra to join me. I looked at what I had prepared. It was a simple romantic rooftop setup, with candles flickering in delicate glass holders, tracing the edges of the rooftop, and soft fairy lights hanging above, casting a warm golden glow.

That kind of warmth belonged in a different novel not concerned with family betrayals. The footage jittered in front of me, making my sight blurry. I paused, skipped, rewound to the place with better quality.. The rooftop was like any other rooftop—flat, functional, unremarkable—until someone tried to kill me on it. Then it became worth my attention.

Naomi's pov The stairs ended abruptly on a small landing that opened onto the rooftop. I stepped off the top riser and froze. I stopped breathing. The rooftop glows. The air was still, quiet, and magical. It was a private, smaller section, probably a terrace attached to a restaurant, and it was entirely transformed. Everywhere I looked, delicate, warm fairy lights were strung—over the railing, across a low arch, woven through the greenery in planters. The soft music seemed to be coming from speakers hidden in the plants. A single, elegantly set small table sat near the edge, its white linen catching the glow.
