Evie watched in stunned horror as the laws of physics and biology seemed to bend around him. Damon’s body snapped forward. The seams of his dark shirt violently burst as his skeletal structure expanded with terrifying speed. Muscles surged and rearranged beneath his skin; bones cracked and reset with deafening pops that sounded like gunfire in the enclosed space. A thick coat of midnight-black fur erupted across his broad back and shoulders, gleaming like polished obsidian under the dim firelight.

Especially Cash and his gang. Drake’s body grew into his huge demonic form. When Ryder would pale in comparison next to Drake in that form, now he was a sight to behold. Imagine a solid black dragon with scales that would remind you of the galaxy. He walks upright on two feet in a semi humanoid form. His body thick with chiseled armor that looks to have grown straight out of his body. It was black like him, but changes colors depending on the direction he turns. The colors are breathtaking. Like the northern lights, they changed from black, to purple, to blue, to green, and yellow. Spikes protrude from both his elbows. I’m assuming its part of his battle armor. The transformation rippled through my bones, stretching muscle and cracking skin. My claws extended, spine snapping forward as my wolf took over. A light black fur burst from my skin, and my eyes burned golden. Thorne’s transformation was brutal. Fast. His beast was larger than everyone else's. Maybe even larger than Ryan's. Mj squeaked in almost a whisper, she was not crying but Theron could feel how scared she was and it angered him. “How could she be afraid of him now, after they had been through so much?” The thought further agitated the large ancient beast. Theron rose to his full height and let out a howl so haunting it shook the windows, as he cried out to the moon he began to shift, the black fur falling away from him like rain leaving only Dante, now standing with his arms out to his sides and his chest pushed outward toward the sky.//

Dante’s whole frame didn't just shake—it grew. The mechanical shriek of his pneumatic shoulder joints turned into a deep, organic roar that vibrated through the granite floor until the server racks on either side of the aisle began to spit their silver drive-trays like teeth. The iron casting of his chest didn't break; it melted, the black metal running down his ribs like hot wax to reveal a new, thicker layer of dark, iridescent fur that didn't look like wolf skin at all. It looked like the skin of a deep-sea predator, smooth, ribless, and swallowing the red laser-sights of the enforcers until the dots disappeared into his hide without leaving a heat trace.
