Old Promises, New Rings

Old Promises, New Rings

I embraced my new life and left the wreckage of the past behind. … Clement and I traveled to Finholm to see the northern lights. While I was mesmerized by the shimmering sky, he leaned over and pecked my cheek. Perhaps it was the aurora's glow, but when he looked at me, his eyes were dazzling and faintly blue, drawing me in. … When we returned from our honeymoon, the head of a kickboxing club, whom I hadn't seen in forever, reached out to me. She told me the international tournament I had given up on was about to start again, and she didn't want my talent to go to waste.

A Promise He Never Kept

A Promise He Never Kept

Even the underwear he was wearing now was the one I bought. "What a pity," Rebecca said, shaking her head as she held Mom's hand. "When we were young, we always said we'd become in-laws one day. We even joked about arranging a childhood engagement for the two of them!" She glanced at me, her tone warm. "I've always liked Gerry. She's such a lovely lady. She's beautiful, kind, and cheerful…" I lowered my gaze, afraid to make a sound. I was terrified that if I slipped up for even a moment, my tears would start falling one by one.

Paper Promises

Paper Promises

His fingers are warm and confident, the way he grips a pen before he signs something irreversible. “This isn’t for them,” he says quietly. “This is for you.” The words should ease the tightness in my chest. They don’t. They rearrange it into something more complicated. “Don’t make promises you can’t keep,” I say. “I don’t,” he answers. We both know that’s not true anymore. The board brunch is a blur of names and teeth. They’re all there—the men who own pieces of the sky. Elias, smirking. Two others I recognize from G****e and the expressions of waiters who wish they were anywhere else.

GODDESS
There are A LOT of errors. And you can tell English isn't this Authors first language. The translations are off. BUUUUUT that didn't stop this book from being absolutely amazing. I am so glad I stuck it through. I feel none of the intimate scenes should have been skipped or shortened. Great Story

Descent

Descent

For as long you'll have me, then I'd like to have you as well goes unspoken; in any way you'll let me, in any way I can. A lot of things went unspoken between them but for once, for once Proserpina feels like they have reached the same page. But at their core, isn't that what makes a promise? Promises are an agreement founded in mutual trust and even if they are felt, they will always be the words that linger in our minds, in our hearts; promises will always be the words that remain unsaid. And while this promise may or may not be worth it (this was for her to judge for many years to come), she dares to hope that it will be one he or she won't come to regret.

A Knight's Promise

A Knight's Promise

Kent sighed looking upon his glass “Warriors of Faith hear me, Today we stand on the edge of a promise made long ago, a promise to our families and brothers who fell defending Requiem, we swore that day to defend the innocent and punish the treacherous. On this day, we stand before our brothers both old and new to right the wrongs of the past and pave a new future together. I ask you to raise thy glass in honor of the fallen and may the gods bless this day in memory of our fallen and guide us to a brighter tomorrow, FOR FAITH!” “FOR CREATION!!!!” The knights and Marines shouted. They all raised their glass filled with the legendary Fire Frost wine and drank it whole in honor of their fallen.

The Forbidden Promise

The Forbidden Promise

She smiled. “What’s your promise?” Eileen asked. She gulped and smiled at her. “We both have forbidden promises. Do you know anything about them?” Tony asked. Eileen shook her head, she can’t tell them what she knows about Luke. “There were two types of forbidden promises: the killing promise and the strengthening promise. Forbidden promises are different from ordinary promises. Forbidden promises are a rare type of magic, you can only have a forbidden promise if it’s running to your blood. One of the forbidden promises, which is the strengthening promise, is running in our blood.” She explained.

PROMISE ME, JAKE

PROMISE ME, JAKE

He was the perfect solution to my problems, but there was only one condition he asked before promising me his ‘I do. “Don’t fall for me,” was his unbreakable rule. I laughed at him that day, thinking how easy it is to follow his stupid rule. I’m in love with my ex-fiance, his younger brother Calvin, so what could possibly go wrong? I agreed without hesitation, seeing him as the ticket out of my life’s predicament. Like a raging wave, the realization of my vow’s weight crashed on me. How can I fulfill my promise, when even in the darkness and danger that surrounds him, I’m hauled like a moth to a flame?

Broken Promises

Broken Promises

The man looked at me with a look that I recognized as sympathy, "he left maybe 15 minutes ago." I stood up, "I...I am so sorry I bothered you." I would have kept rambling but the man stood up with me and came to my side grabbing both of my shaky hands, "I don't know what is going on but I promise you young lady things will get better. Take things one day at a time, you put one foot in front of the other and soon you will be past all of this." I smiled at him feeling my eyes tear up, "thank you."

still reading but I'm surprised Ive enjoyed this story as much as I am. I usually dont like whiney female characters, and her anxiety was giving me a headache, but I enjoyed the drama. looking forward to where or how the story ends.
Tiara Marie
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. With the many statements as: "I made a face/frowned/cut my eyes at" – it irked me lol. But very good nonetheless. Kennedy was strong headed but also stubborn, Seth was annoying in some scenes and never thought about anyone else until it was convenient for him.

Promises in the Grave

Promises in the Grave

I almost pulled it off for her, but in a twist no one saw coming, I ended up marrying her son. That was why Sabrina could not stand me, and by extension, my little girl, Ruby. I used to bite my tongue for Alfred's sake, no matter how much Sabrina tried to rattle me. However, when she saw what was on my phone, she went pale as a ghost. She was so shaken, she could not even get her words out straight. I kept my composure and said, "Mrs. Hawkins, how about we make a deal?" ... That night, a car was smashed by a big rig on the way home, tumbled off the overpass, and burst into flames.
