Knight's Sacred Burden
The world went black, a darkness so absolute it seemed to swallow existence itself.
And then, a sound. A rhythmic, thrumming pulse, like a heartbeat—slow, deep, and impossibly loud—began to shake the very foundations of the earth.
"Kael!" Julian screamed, but his voice was drowned out by the roar of the collapsing palace.
The last thing Julian saw before the ceiling caved in was Kael, kneeling in the heart of the darkness, a statue of black, shining obsidian, his hands plunged deep into the abyss, his body glowing with the final, terrible light of the Saturation.
