She watched as Zayne flipped opened pages. “You need to read this” zayne handed her the book with a page wide opened. Even though Quinn was scared, she took the book from Zayne. Her eyes popped out on seeing the heading on the page that was open, “GREY WOLVES WITH BLACK DOTS” And curiously, her eyes roamed the content of the page. Zayne watched as her eyes moved quickly on the book. He wasn’t hearing any word from her, but he knew she was reading it in her heart as her lips moved slowly without a word.

She nods at me gently, and I don’t see her face again. I sighed, before peeling the book of a true mate bond open, I started to read. A true mate can sense its mate from afar, they can communicate through unknown ways. And, they even have a feeling that it’s their mate. Is that what’s happening to me? Is Zeke truly my mate? Why in the hell would the Goddess pair me with him? "Please let this be a mistake." I pray silently to myself, before picking up the book of the Luna powers, the pages are bulky, it would take an eternity to read this.

I carefully flipped through the delicate pages until I found what I was looking for. And there it was. It could, as he put it, be dialed by one’s intent. The next page contained what I was looking for. There was a sketch of a special amulet with a triangular gem that was cradled in obsidian. A handwritten note sat beside it and read, ‘Tanzanite, conduit of balance—only this may harness both sides of the flame with equal measure.’

I look at Gaia and she shifts in her seat and Kronos notices it. “What is the cost to remove the mark?” I ask him because I will do whatever it takes to have Rosa back. “It requires a sacrifice.” He says, and I nod my head. No matter what kind of sacrifice I will do it. “Who is it Zeus has marked?” he asks and Gaia looks at me and I nod my head to her. She brought me here so she should have a plan to include him in this plan. “Rosa. She is a tribrid. The oracle Jadara is within her, the same as her wolf and the Angel of Death.” Kronos growls, pinching the bridge of his nose as he slowly shakes his head in disbelief.

He opened another scroll, handing it to her, and my heart dropped as I read the Latin words that were stated. “Phoenix in plenilunio nascitur, unum ovum ponitur, et si eclypsis advenerit, exoritur datus. Phoenix sanguine nascitur, sed datus ex sole et luna annulari.” A phoenix is to be born on a full moon, one egg to be laid, and if an eclipse is to occur, it hatches giving the chosen one. A phoenix is born of phoenix blood, but a chosen one is of a sun and moon annular. I read, looking up at my mate whose eyes met the Lycan’s.

This will be the journal entry I will ever write for as long as the darkness is out for me, this journal will be only one I own and it is going to be in hiding as well. On the page of the book was a picture of a wolf howling in the moonlight, and with it was an inscription. An ancient prophecy from a psychic from the northern continent called the Zaphire Sun. Which says that there was a blessed birth for the wolves that is believed to this day. “Child of the Moon Goddess?” whispered Yesran little, she reread the next line. The sun, dipping low in the sky, cast a soft glow across the garden, adding warmth to the already soothing atmosphere. Zoe sank down onto a smooth, flat rock near a small pond, watching as koi fish glided beneath lily pads, their orange and white scales gleaming in the late afternoon light. She pulled the Chronicles of the Aetherians from her bag and laid it on her knees, her fingers lightly tracing the intricate symbols on its leather-bound cover. The book felt ancient, alive even, as if it held secrets waiting to be unlocked, secrets she was only beginning to understand.
