Her lips were plump and she had a dark shade of red stain on her lips, though the red drink wet her lips making them look bloody. She was ethereal, her lips pulled up at the side, almost like a twitch and though that action was little it caused me to be wary of her. Then she proved me right by showing her fangs, my eyes bulged. She was a vampire, those fangs were as sharp as a blade. "Good night, Kael, I'll be retiring to my room," she pulled her chair back, then leaned closer to Mikael before placing a soft peck on his cheek.

His golden eyes were wide, but they were glazed over with a thick, milky film that meant his consciousness was entirely gone. Standing directly over his chest was Damon Mikaelson—or the hollow, black-veined thing that had stolen his skin. The Weaver turned its head as Elena entered the chamber, its broken jaw clicking twice as a slow, unhinged grin stretched across Damon's pale features. The pale violet fire behind its pupils was burning with an insatiable, final victory.

I smiled sheepishly at her, shifting from foot to foot. "Oh hell no." She gave me a look that should have killed me. My smile faltered. "Miks. Why weren't you freaked out about Sebastian?" It was another question I had ringing through my ears. One I couldn't ignore. Mikaela wasn't as closed minded as our pack.
