Raina sat by the bedside and, for the first time, realized just how pale a person’s face could become—so white it was almost translucent, not a trace of blood beneath the skin. Even though streaks of dried, half-clotted blood still marred his face, there was no color left in it. Lowering her head, she carefully, inch by inch, used a towel to wipe away the blood from his face. A basin of clean water, by the end, was dyed completely red.

When she saw what it was, her eyes darkened. It was a bright red arm, covered with mud, weeds, and blood. The bone was clean, with only minced meat on it, which looked extremely disgusting.

Kayson finally stopped and breathed deeply only after all 13 needles were poked into Gerald’s back. A small lump the size of a thumb protruded on Gerald’s back like it was about to break out of his skin. Kayson poked through the lump, and black-colored blood flowed out. The consistency of the fluid was sticky and felt like engine oil. At this time, Gerald spat out a mouthful of black-colored blood too. He then fainted. “Grandpa!” Rose ran up to support Gerald and worriedly asked, “Dr. Yarde, how is my grandfather?”

As I walk closer to it , a feeling inside me stirs – a disturbed feeling that is even new and disturbing to a soldier. On the fountains edge , I see a mini battlefield – the fountains edge was covered with dried blood. It looks as if a sacrifice was made and the stains of blood was left over as the person was to lazy to clean after themselves. The closer I got to the fountain , the more thinks I discovered. I noticed that the once clear water , was now a pink and deepish red colour – blood has been spilt into the water and it has been mixed. However , I watch as the water becomes more crimson as time passes.

So, she answered with a straight face, “All of the time, I guess.” Dr Tiana inhaled deeply. ‘Feisty couple!’ She cleared her throat and explained, "Your sickness is not life-threatening. These reddish-purple marks were caused by aggressive kissing or sucking of the soft skin. It caused the capillaries beneath the skin to rupture,” she explained. She hoped for her patient to understand the simple explanation. Jennet eyed her while smiling puzzlingly; confused at the explanation. There was silence among them as they eyed each other awkwardly. One hoped that the other to understand. The other one hopes for a much better explanation. But, neither one of the two can pick a better moment to speak.

And the color began to spread. It started at the blood—a thin line that widened, darkened, became a thread, then a rope, then a river of deep, rich crimson that flowed through the white like a crack in a glacier. It didn’t run downward or upward, but outward, in all directions, carving channels in the nothingness, filling the emptiness with veins of color that pulsed and throbbed with a rhythm that matched her heartbeat. *Thump-thump. Thump-thump. Thump-thump.*

SMACK! Red, swollen welts had erupted across my skin, each one throbbing with pain. My bones ached from the countless areas where they had puffed up, and I couldn't even begin to fathom how many bruises had formed. The sight of my body was a gruesome one, and I couldn't help but wonder if there was also a slight, unnoticed trickle of blood seeping out from my battered body.

The blue dye on his black hair had become an undertone of red as a result of the dried blood that matted his hair. His eyes, unlike the blonde's, were partially gorged out, and his face was contorted in a permanent expression of fear. Black veins crawled up his neck. I used my hands to trace the veins down, and I noticed they were spread all over his body, just like the blonde.

"Maybe type A blood?" I froze for a moment. She quickly realized what I meant and added, "Sorry, I had some blood earlier and didn't wipe it off."
