Sienna’s POV Friday Afternoon This week has been long and tiring as hell, and today takes the damn cake. First thing this morning, I walked into my office and found a vase full of beautiful red and pink roses sitting on my desk. For half a second, I smiled, thinking Knox was being his usual thoughtful self that's until I read the card. “I can’t wait to meet my little man. Alex.” I sighed, tossed the card straight into the trash, and the flowers followed right after it. That man is fucking delusional.

THE ALPHA BOOK Clara was a little surprised but she was still sure that Crystal couldn't be the princess because it was not possible! The kind of script someone uses when they need to write everything they know into a space much too small. I read the first line. Everything, clearing, dawn, first wolves, Vael’s people, Rhydian at my shoulder, it all went unearthly quiet. I read it again. “Rhydian,” I said. He leaned in over my shoulder. I heard his breath catch.

She would never understand, I thought, my jaw tightening. My eyes dropped to the stack of files on my desk. I needed to complete the review and send them to the Finance department. I pulled my seat closer to the desk, flipping open the first file. The words were quite clear at first, but as I continued with the review, they slowly became blurry. My thoughts kept drifting back to Clara. “Fuck.” I leaned back and shut my eyes, but she was there again, waiting in my thoughts. I opened my eyes in frustration and slammed my fist against the desk— the sound loud, echoing across the room.
