“I, Esme Meadows, reject you as my mate!” At her heated words of rejection, a tense silence enveloped the whole yard. No one, not even the wind made a single noise. Esme tensed, expecting the pain of the rejection to swamp her body but nothing came. Then the king laughed. And somewhere deep inside my blood. Something ancient opened its eyes. Blackness swallowed me. But the last thing I heard, before I hit the ground, was not my wolf crying. It was another voice. Low. Powerful. Not Kael’s. Not from this pack. “You dare reject what belongs to me?” As Aurelia lies unconscious beneath the full moon, her rejected bond bleeds silver across the ground and miles away, a Lycan King rises from his throne.
