The soft glow of lamplight cast a warm ambiance, and I handed him a mug.
"Thanks," he murmured, the gratitude in his tired eyes not escaping me.
We sat in comfortable silence for a moment, the events of the day hanging between us. The flickering flame in the fireplace danced to its own rhythm, casting shadows on the walls.
"I spoke to Raven today," I began, breaking the quietude. "He wants to meet tomorrow morning."
"I heard you give an order to let Raven pass the border. I was wondering when you would bring it up," Ryan said, raising an eyebrow.
