It was like it had put me in a crowded place filled with emotions. The last station we tried was a horror booth. It was an old building decorated with spooky decorations comprising spider webs, black curtains, small skulls, and creatures of the undead. "Are you scared?" I heard Bright ask me. I looked at her. She has her lips curled into a sweet smile as though she is trying to tease me. I let out a chuckle. "What if I am?" I asked her. She then puts her hand out, out of nowhere. "Then you can simply hold hands with me," she says, before intertwining her fingers with mine.

He stated. "Yes, I don't. But that doesn't mean I want you to stay behind." I declare, before closing my eyes to force my statement out. "What's it, Scarlett?" Orlan question, because he noticed that I'm holding in some unsaid words. I forced my eyes open and then tears started falling from my eyes. I have never behaved weak in front of others, but in Orlan, cause I just break down easily. "I'm scared!" I mumble while biting my lower lip. "I'm scared that other supernatural creatures would come and invade the mansion. Besides wolves, witches, and Vampires have all done their worst, but I haven't seen elves, dragons, zombies....."

“Damn, he’s like a ghost. He scared me to death, but how did he die? Was he killed by an explosion? The tire pressure of the car isn’t too heavy, so it shouldn’t be able to kill anyone. How did he die?” “There seems to be something on the tire. Didn’t he gouge it a little?” “Right, right, right. I saw that thing on his bloody face just now. It seems to be a nail, right?” “The Grim Reaper is right beside us, but it’s really hard to guard against it. I’m scared just by watching it. It’s different from before. We were all just standing there, thirty strangers in some dramatic-looking grand hall. Then came the crying. "Waaah... this place is so scary. I wanna go home." Scary? Could've fooled me. Meanwhile, some cranky knight-looking dude threw punches at the shadows. "Quit hiding and fight me, coward!" While most people were busy freaking out, two stepped forward—chill and confident.

Mira tugged on Scarlet’s sleeve, practically vibrating with anxious curiosity. “Who is that student? Does she have two heads? Did the Moon Goddess personally come and whisper answers into her ear?” Her tone tried to stay playful, but fear cracked through every syllable. The hallway was loud, buzzing, feral...even the wolves that usually acted civilized were pacing like they’d smelled blood.

Only the ring of hammer on steel. Her claws ached beneath her skin, begging to break through. Later, as the sun tipped toward noon, Sabrina followed Raven to the far side of camp and her blond pigtails bounced with her steps, but her expression was pinched with worry. “They’re just… scared,” Sabrina said, biting her lip. “That’s all this is, as fear makes people stupid.” Raven dropped her weight heavily onto a stone slab, arms crossed. “Scared people don’t whisper like that, scared people don’t stop looking you in the eye and also scared people don't grab their knives when you pass.”

And that night, my real journey began—a descent into the haunted forest, where the main battle awaited me. The place was cloaked in shadows, dense with twisted trees, thick vines, and hanging moss that obscured the sky. I felt eyes watching me, lurking just out of sight. The chill of the night air pricked by my skin, every step filled with dread. Bones littered the ground under an ancient tree, each one a silent warning of the horrors waiting up ahead. In the distance, a scary cave loomed. The thick, damp air reeked of decay and rot. It was as if death itself had settled here and made a home out of the shadows. The smell clung to my throat like smoke, sour and suffocating.

I tripped over tangled roots, barefoot and breathless, fear gnawing at me like a ravenous beast. Suddenly, I heard Elena's laughter behind me. It was cold and creepy, like nails on a chalkboard, and it made me shiver. Elena, who was hidden in the dark trees like a spooky animal, moved fast and smoothly, almost like she was floating. I saw her smile for a quick second, red and mean-looking under the moon, and then she disappeared again, just like a ghost.

Instead, they stopped at the edge of the cliff, glaring at me. The one whom I suspected to be Riel howled loudly and her look alike wolf joined in before they both turned around. "It is either they cannot make the jump or there is something way scarier on this other side which they both know about and aren't ready to face." I decided to take the walk myself and give her some time to rest and recuperate. Dark tree trunks hung from the tall trees like claws of some scary creatures. Scary shadows created from the little amount of moonlight the place received took forms everywhere and I gulped down the saliva that had built up in my mouth.

I still have my grievance over that! "They are overprice everything! They are really corrupt in the ghost market! Especially that one bad nurse named Cathy, she was the scariest and ruthless of them all." Yes, Nurse Cathy. I still have a grudge against you for being ruthless to me. Your treatment was frightening. "So we have to be careful." Rica nodded. She seemed unfazed by what I said. "Do you really understand what I said?" I doubted her hearing. Rica rolled her eyes. "I've been wandering aimlessly and I've seen scarier things. Actually, not only the dead are the scary ones even the living too."
