Wolf Moon

Wolf Moon

Anahita Waterwolf POV We waterwolves have resettled on the banks of the Dream River that runs through the place once known as the Barren. Though to use the word 'barren' in relation to this magnificent place feels ridiculous. Many mornings I sit on the balcony of the packhouse, before the pack stirs, gazing out at the churning, roiling, foaming waves of the river, its banks densely packed with rich, dark mud. The colours of the river at dawn--blue, mauve, purple, indigo, green--remind me of the lifestone and that night when the poison was driven out. The lifestone disappeared, it's work done. And Silvia's iron--the physical iron anyway--was also gone.

The Beta's Scarred Mate: A Loner to Luna Prequel

The Beta's Scarred Mate: A Loner to Luna Prequel

I threw my head back and laughed, “I don’t want you to be anything but yourself. Ever.” We continued walking and we got to the area where the bridges are I looked at huge area that looked like a bottomless pool and Joshua told me that this is the beginning of Spring River. It is fed by an underground spring and there is a legend that a Native American tribe lived in the area. The chief’s son had drowned in this spring and the chief cried so much into the spring that it rose the level of the river. He then said that this river would never run dry. My mate smiled, “And even in times when ponds were drying up, the level of this river never went down to dangerous levels. It also stays the same t

Redemption of The Dragon Prince

Redemption of The Dragon Prince

They love their power too much to let that seat go unfilled. Our march forward is slow, but steady, and as soon as we enter the treeline, the branches and trunks provide our weary ears with some relief. Finally able to clear my head, I look around, allowing my eyes to adjust to the darkness. Up ahead, shining like a gem, is the Crystal River. The Merriweather is the only ship in dock, welcoming us, promising smooth sailing downriver until we reach the River Nexus and the Bone Palace. Once we’ve passed the village of the River Keepers, we’ll be safely out to sea, where, hopefully, Ona waits with reinforcements.

HIS REVENGE, HER REDEMPTION

HIS REVENGE, HER REDEMPTION

A woman with no visible connections, no internal referrals, suddenly hired by one of the most powerful men in the media after what was clearly a poor interview. If our positions were reversed, I might have wondered too. Around noon, Mrs. Hargreaves, the office manager, paused beside my desk. “You’re settling in well?” she asked, her tone pleasant but measured. “Yes, ma’am,” I replied, meeting her eyes. Her gaze lingered a moment too long, sharp and assessing. “Mr. Rivers values competence above all else.” “I do too,” I said honestly. Something unreadable flickered across her face before she nodded. “Good.”

"Now, tell me something useful, or this gets much uglier." Tears streamed down his face as he babbled incoherently. "Alright, alright! There's a shipment coming in! Derick's expecting it tonight. Guns, drugs—it's big!" I nodded, absorbing the information. "Where?" He hesitated, and I pressed the knife against his throat. "Where?" "The old docks, by the river! Midnight!" he cried out. "That's all I know, I swear!" I stepped back, wiping the blade clean. "Good. You've been surprisingly helpful." I turned and walked to the door, calling out to Ironhead, who was standing guard. "Take care of him," I said, my voice cold. "And make sure there's nothing left."

The Alpha King's One-Time Rejected Mate

The Alpha King's One-Time Rejected Mate

Black River remembered what it was. The valley no longer sagged beneath the weight of Mira’s blood-soaked rituals. The land stood taller now, as if it had finally been allowed to breathe. Pines once gray and brittle had deepened into full, living green, their branches rolling in slow waves with the wind. The river that cut through the territory ran clear—no steam, no sour magic clinging to its banks. Its scent was clean stone and moss, touched with the faint metallic truth of honest blood instead of sacrifice.

Fated to the Alpha

Fated to the Alpha

“How did you know I wouldn’t die?” “Because I’ve been swimming in this river all my life. Everyone I know at the reservation has at some point jumped off there into the river. It’s sort of like a rite of passage. Also, the river seems dangerous, but according to the belief system shared by the Creed, it’s a living thing and doesn’t want to harm anyone. So I took my chances,” I told her. “How are we standing right under the waterfall and not getting wet?” Alice squealed happily as she reached out and touched the waterfall.

RIVER

RIVER

Now all they had to do was wait, wait until she returned. River rode down to Keystone, to see Mount Rushmore. The drive was so beautiful. If you’ve never been up there, then you are missing out. The beautiful, huge, green pine trees, even the dead trees lying on the ground were mesmerizing. There’s a reason they called that small town Deadwood. The breeze, the air quality, the mountains, the lakes…speaking of lakes, Lake Pactola and Lake Sheridan, are beyond magnificent. Nothing like Lake Houston, River thought and giggled. Stopping at both lakes, to her surprise they were still icy cold and it was about to be June.

Once Rejected, Now Desired

Once Rejected, Now Desired

And she wandered off again. Something was wrong. But what? It was only a matter of time before we arrived at Red River. Known to be one of Dark Moon's most popular tourist attractions, Red River - as the name implied - was a river that rushed with light red (or pink) water, which was known for its warmth and sweetness no matter the time of day. Its shore was surrounded with trees, and benches were situated at regular meters for tourists to sit and watch the beautiful sight. The boys ran off once we got down from the car, and I had the guards chase after them to make sure they didn't wander too far from us.

The story is good. But when is the next update? It's frustrating to read a good story, then NO updates for days. This is a costly site to read from & nothing like spending $ to hit a road block and no updates.
