Master Riven and his hosts were playing a very dirty game here, and I was in the middle of it. "For this match to be square, we shall have him fight one of our elite soldiers!" The crowd booed. "And there will be weapon!" They cheered. The barricade opened and four soldiers walked in to take my opponent out. I wondered if they would let him live or just kill him while he was unconscious. Three of the soldiers went out, one remained. He had a slightly bigger build than me but nothing close to Weston. I had a feeling I would have it easy with him.

“Derek retracted. Said it was a mistake. Not you. Security footage—deepfake, he claims. Take the week to recover from marriage problems. Resume Monday. Paid.” Layla laughed—wet, free, loud. “Things falling into place” she said, voice light. Blake grinned, wiping solder from his hands. “One more gift” he said. They stepped outside—gravel crunching, cricket song loud. THUD. A crate hit the porch. The lid creaked open. A second robot—taller, sleeker, silver chassis, blue eyes glowing, muscles defined under silicone skin. Madison laughed. “Since you love robots” she said, “we brought an extra. Keep you and Big Daddy busy.”

I was about to speak when my ears picked up a muffled sound from afar and the light footsteps were coming our way. "Damn bats! Fxck!" I heard someone cussing from a distance. "Someone's coming this way," I uttered. "Yeah. I noticed." Isabella said, and we all were alert. "Let's disguise ourselves. We will get in trouble if they see the diamond crystal on our foreheads." I said. Everyone quickly cast a spell to make the diamond crystal invisible. Now, we look normal except for our expensive cloaks. A few minutes later, a woman in a red gown appeared and was stunned to see us. She halted, and she looked dumbstruck. "Wow," she whispered, and her eyes fixated on Ricky.

"He’s a ghost program! Don't let him touch your head!" The detective scrambled up, his face half-missing. Under the skin, there was nothing but glowing green wires. He wasn't even a person. He was a "Narrator" bot, sent to explain away the plot holes. "The series is over!" the Narrator-bot screamed. "The Publisher has ordered a total wipe!" He pulled a small silver device from his belt. It looked like a remote control. He pressed a button, and the entire street began to fold upward. The police cars, the lab, and the sky started to curl like a burning photograph.

With one final grimace in my direction, Rowan wrapped his arm around her shoulders and swept her out of the building. My head was already hurting, and it had nothing to do with the rising din of voices around me. Just a few hours ago, I was a human living in suburbia with a family who treated me like a servant—not a fantastical creature from a storybook who was the center of attention. And just a few hours ago, I had one boyfriend, Daniel. Even if he cheated on me with my stepsister, there was only one. Not three “mates”. “Four,” the voice in my head corrected me. “You have four mates, although the fourth isn’t here tonight. I wonder who he could be…”

I hadn’t even noticed it before. It looked nothing like the estate. It looked like a fortress. There was no visible door, no button, no keypad. Just a tall, humanoid robot sentinel, built into the stone wall like it had grown there. It blinked awake as we approached, mechanical eyes scanning both of us. “What is the passcode?” it asked, voice calm and male. Declan stepped forward, without hesitation. “The Dominions rule,” he answered. The robot paused, then nodded. A soft click sounded—then a hiss.

The bed was massive, the painting was peaceful and lovely, the scenery was just everything and it was really neat and clean. “I love it already. Thanks a lot.” Alyssa appreciated her with a smile. “Alright then. I’ll leave you to rest now.” Safi said and she moved out of the room. Alyssa shut the door behind her and walked up to her bed and bounced on it. “It’s very neat. No sign of dust.” “Then you should know we are really dealing with a sophisticated robot.” Lisa uttered and Alyssa nodded. “It’s quite obvious, Lisa. But we’ll find a way out.” Alyssa assured as she scanned around with her eyes.

The collar sent out a single shock which immediately dropped him to his knees. The TV chimed and came on. 'You must remain unadorned,' appeared on the screen. Rob stood and angrily threw the wadded-up sheet back on the bed, then walked to the bath area and grabbed a large towel. Even before he could wrap it around himself, he was shocked again. The TV chimed a second time. 'Completely unadorned!' it read. Realizing that he was being watched he glanced around the room, seeing cameras in all four corners. Almost as if his mind was being read, his own images filled the screen from each of the cameras at the same time.

The ceiling began to shake. Large pieces of tile fell from above. From the hole in the ceiling a group of silver robots came down. They did not have faces. They had needles where their hands should be. "The Vaccine " Patient Zero hissed. The robots did not move like people. They moved like spiders. They crawled across the walls and the ceiling. One of them dove at June. Its long needle was glowing with a blue light. "June duck!" Dante grabbed a heavy metal chair. Swung it. The chair hit the robots head.
