I don't know what have gotten into me but I find myself bolder tonight, may be it's the effect of the alcohol in my system. He stops smiling and looks at me intently, those piercing eyes penetrates through every layer of my heart and soul. "You can call me, Nick." He says and for a moment I couldn't believe on my ears. Did they mishear him? "Huh?" "I said you can call me Nick like my family and my friends, Rain." He responds with a smile tugged on the corner of his lips. "Are you sure, I mean you have no problem with me calling you by your nickname?" I narrow my eyes at him for a final assurance.

The last thing I wanted was another disaster where I fell and couldn't get up. “50 seconds, Heart!” Lisa called behind me. My heart stuttered. She was counting the time? “Oh Goddess, what do I do?” I mumbled to myself as I neared the boys. One of them noticed me and pointed out. “Yo, check it out. It's Eggwash.” The players echoed a holler before they broke into laughter. Eggwash, TinBarbie, Bookclown, amongst others, were my nicknames. Eggwash is the most popular and the guy that came up with it was staring, no, glaring at me.

I reply and he immediately reassures me that he would do his very best. "By the way, what's your name? I asked you earlier but you refused to answer me." In this line of work, using your real name is forbidden and telling your victims your real name is even much worse, so we usually go by our various nicknames. My nickname is Dagger but my real name is Gabriel." He explains and I couldn't help but shake my head at the crazy difference between his real name and his supposed nickname.

"I didn't say that you were not, Nicho." "It's Nicholas for you when it's just the two of us." He corrected me. I didn't say anything. Nicho is a prim and proper man, he likes everything in order but he is warm to me and I didn't want to offend the only person in this rich man's world who genuinely cares for me and nicknames hold meaning. I understand if he only wanted to be called Nicho by Rory. I cleared my throat and slightly waved the piece of paper near his face.

I looked back to Nick with a smile on my face, his eyes met mine and he winked. “I’m the smitten one.” I confessed. “You’re perfect for him, and not to mention no-one has ever stood up with Richard the way you did earlier. It was also so heartwarming that fact you did it in aid of Nick as well.” “Can I ask you something?” “Of course.” “I noticed that you all refer to his name differently. Is there a reason why?” “No matter what the nickname for him, mother and father will always call him Dominic. Zack has always called him Dom as he knows it winds him up. The rest of us and anyone close call him Nick.”
