REJECTED MATE

REJECTED MATE

Mum rushed to our side with a bucket of water and set it on the floor. “I’ll get more.” Some of the other wolves had gathered a pile of rocks around the clearing, only to disappear and fetch more, while a few of them remained to hurl them at Snorri. Each stone that landed dented his huge scorpion body, but it did nothing to break him apart. An idea hit me upside the head. “Dad.” I gave him a nudge in the side. “Let’s try getting these stones wet.”

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai

And in the center of the valley stood the Whispering Stones. They were not what Liora had expected. They weren't grand or majestic. They were a circle of rough, grey stones, no taller than Ashiel, covered in pale green lichen. They looked ancient and weary, as if they had been standing there since the birth of the world, holding up the sky. The whispering was loudest here, a soft, mournful chorus.

Survival In The Parallel World

Survival In The Parallel World

While Bob goes for more stones I pick one of the imperial rocks up and hit it against a normal stone. I'm pleased with the result, while the imperial stone retains its shape, the other one broke easily. After experimenting with the imperial stone for a while, I realize that it is very difficult to break, even hitting two imperial stones against each other doesn't seem to work. So, instead of doing the same thing over and over like a caveman, I start scraping it against a huge rock that just happened to be nearby.

THE SUBSTITUTE MATE FOR THE ALPHA KING

THE SUBSTITUTE MATE FOR THE ALPHA KING

The air grew colder. In a small, rocky clearing, we found it. A circle of seven standing stones, no taller than my waist, covered in thick moss and ivy. They looked utterly mundane, forgotten. But in the center of the circle, the moss was grey and dead. And from that dead patch, a thin, silver mist was rising, smelling exactly as Maia described: like a frozen lightning bolt and moonlight on a tomb.

The Damned Alpha

The Damned Alpha

Ethan began pushing against the rock, using all his strength to try and dislodge it. The rock was stubborn, refusing to budge at first. But as the creature neared, its claws scratching against the stone, Ethan felt a surge of adrenaline. With one last thrust, the rock moved, the ground underneath it splitting. Ethan jumped back just as the rock broke free, tumbling down into the chasm below.

Matched (Mortal, Book Three)

Matched (Mortal, Book Three)

Even pushing together, we can't move the rock. The goblins are too close now. Within a matter of seconds, they'll be on us. Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath. There it is. The tiny flicker inside of me. Focusing on it, I let it grow ... and then I unleash it. The rock rolls down the hill and hits the first goblin. It screams as it's knocked off its feet and tumbles down the rocky terrain. The rock hits a couple more goblins, and the sight is gruesome. They definitely won't be getting back up. The rest of their buddies shriek in terror and back away, knowing they're in for something similar.

Tides of Passion: The Pirate's Curse

Tides of Passion: The Pirate's Curse

He pushed back some branches, revealing a small stone with a peculiar indentation. “What do you think it does?” another crew member asked, his brows furrowed with curiosity. “Only one way to find out,” Lucas replied, and with a determined flick of his wrist, pressed down on the stone. With a low rumble, the ground beneath their feet trembled. Amelia’s breath caught in her throat as the central stone shifted, sliding aside with a heavy groan. The sound reverberated in the air like a foreboding drum, revealing a dark staircase descending into an abyss shrouded in shadows.

The Ultimate Husband

The Ultimate Husband

"Kill me? I'm afraid you don't have the chops for that." As he spoke, Yusof's eyes glinted coldly as he waved a hand. "Release the rocks." "Yes, Sir!" The men lining the cliffs called out in response before pushing the giant rocks they had prepared down the walls of the valley. Rumble, rumble… Almost a thousand rocks fell from the cliffs over a hundred meters above, letting out a series of rumbles that rang through one's chest. "Quick!" Chester and Dax could hardly contain their rage at the sight, crying out loudy, "Out of the way, out of the way!"

Harvey York's Rise to Power

Harvey York's Rise to Power

If she successfully turned Harvey into her lackey, then her mission would be completed. After hearing Kora’s words, the impatient crowd started screaming. “Start! Start!” “Fine. Suit yourself.” Harvey gave a chuckle. “You picked a few stones just with a single glance. “It’d be unacceptable if I took too long! “I’ll pick these then!” Harvey casually pointed at twelve stones. Everyone froze before they burst out laughing. Based on the rules of gambling stones, the bigger the stone, the higher the chance of it being a gem. Then again, all of the stones Harvey picked were smaller than a person’s palm. No experienced person would even bat an eye at those stones in the first place.

His Stonewalling Mate

His Stonewalling Mate

Horace said before throwing a bite of ham into his mouth, only to pause mid chew the moment June opened her mouth. "These dancers, are they stones?" She asked coldly, shrewdly. "What?" The salt and peppered haired man, Alpha Julian could not believe his ears. To him, that question reflected retardedness. Coming from a Luna? Oh no. She held Horace's gaze, "Are. they. stones?" She asked slowly, insulting. "No, they're not." Glancing briefly at Jason beside her before continuing. He too looked shocked and confused. "So why do keep referring to them like they're inanimate objects? They're fellow wolves aren't they?"
