*Patricia’s POV – the flashback* I met with my friends last week and admitted to them about the real status of my marriage with Stuart. They were surprised that after six months, Stuart and I had never consummated our wedding. “You know what,” I remembered Janine commented, “I have read similar situations like yours in romance novels, but don’t worry. All of them have a happy ending. They endured some pains but, in the end, their sufferings paid off. The men in their lives realized that their feelings and they eventually end up together.”

Roman cut her off with a glance, his expression unreadable. “Where’s his ring then?” someone asked, their tone mocking. I said irritably. "Yeah, I feel you!" He agrees. "We're still young, but they seem to be in a hurry to get us married to just anyone." He added. "They don't understand that we are not ready for such things and you are even more so," I said then just sighed. Will this best friend of mine be willing to marry a woman? "Well our journey will be very rough and tiring," Celeste informed, staring at Moreau who climbed onto his horse as she admired him. "Do you love him?" Delphine asked, seeing Celeste's eyes were fixed on Moreau. "Who wouldn't, I just wished he felt the same way, but sadly his heart belongs to another woman" Celeste signed sadly.

“You haven’t signed yet?” I frowned slightly. Vanessa stepped closer. “You should read the part where he owns your image for the duration of the engagement,” she said casually. “That part’s fun.” Roman patience visibly thinned. “Leave.” “No.” I finally stood. “Maybe I should—” Vanessa turned toward me instantly. “You should run.” Silence. I blinked slowly. “Excuse me?” Vanessa moved closer now, voice lowering. “You think this is a fairytale?” she asked. “You think marrying him means romance and luxury? Roman doesn’t love people. He controls them.”

I just took a sip of my drink and smiled. The silence stretched out, getting more and more awkward. "What about you, Jax?" Mark asked, trying to break the tension. "You’ve been pretty mysterious all trip. Is there someone back on campus waiting for the star defender or have you seen any girl you like?" Jax didn't look up. He traced the rim of his glass with his finger. "I don't have a girlfriend, Mark." "A boyfriend then?" Swiss joked, but his voice was a bit nervous. He was trying to be light, but it wasn’t helping.
