LORA'S POV After my tense moment with Jasper, I did not allow myself to waste any more time. Immediately after leaving him, I asked Beta Ronan to begin teaching me how to fight properly. While I stayed hidden from Jasper in the human world, I spent many hours training and trying to prepare myself for danger. Still, it was clear to me that everything I practiced before was not enough for the war waiting ahead of us. I had to improve quickly and build real strength. If I failed to grow stronger, I would only slow everyone down and cause problems for them.

Rhiannon's POV The messenger arrived at dawn, three weeks after the Thorn assassination. I was training with Soren in the clearing, teaching him how to counter a larger opponent. At three and a half, he could already execute techniques that took most fighters years to master. "Keep your center low," I instructed. "Use their momentum—yes, like that!" He swept my legs perfectly, grinning with triumph. Then his head snapped toward the tree line, wolf instincts alerting before mine did.

They were state-of-the-art—outdoor sparring areas, an indoor gym with equipment I didn't even recognize, and a massive obstacle course that looked very intimidating. "Want to spar?" he asked. I raised an eyebrow. "You want to fight me?" "I want to train with you." He grinned. "Come on. Let me see what Zeviar's been teaching you." We moved to one of the outdoor mats, and he handed me sparring gloves. "Don't go easy on me," I said. "I wouldn't dream of it." We started slowly, with basic drills, testing each other's reflexes. But it quickly became clear that Orion's teaching style was different from Zeviar's.

“Kade and Darius are going to start sending patrol logs to your desk if you keep disappearing.” “I’ll burn them,” he said flatly. “Noted.” Silence settled between us. Not uncomfortable. Just familiar. We trained first. Not formal sparring, just movement, reflex, instinct. Ronan corrected my stance once without touching me, just pointing out balance shifts. I caught his wrist twice during drills and noticed how quickly he adapted instead of reacting defensively. He was precise. Controlled. And tired in a way he didn’t show on his face. After a while, we stopped near the edge of the yard where the grass met the forest line.

*Lyra* More time passes. It’s hot as hell outside, but that doesn’t stop Jorin and me from training. Every day, after we eat breakfast, we go out to a nearby meadow and spar. Sometimes, we’re in our human forms. Other times, we shift and fight in our wolf forms. Either way, I learn a lot. We rotate where we train every day so that the rogues hopefully won’t smell us in the same spot and stalk us there. One thing I’ve learned about Jorin is that he’s always very cautious.

As such, Lorren recommended that Zen had someone else watch his back whenever he had to heal. The first part of his training was to heal ten injured soldiers from the war with goblins. As Zen had already spoken to and fought alongside most of the soldiers, it wasn’t very difficult for him to remember their names. The ten injured soldiers in the infirmary were discharged at the speed of sound. Lorren had to admit that Zen was smarter than he gave him credit. Apart from being a brilliant and witty strategist, the kid had an excellent memory and figured out a tip to cast healing arts faster than he taught him.

Mingchan asked Ruru. Zuno then walked towards them while holding some kitchen utensils. “Mingchan, they are here for your training, you will be having battles with them.” Zuno answered Mingchan’s question. Mingchan then turned around and was so shocked. “Really? Woah, that is so cool!” Mingchan said and was so amazed as well.

They cheered like idiots who didn’t realize Ronan could bury them alive with one command. Ronan didn’t smile. His eyes were locked on Scarlet, who still wasn’t looking at him. She was calmly tying her boots like she was at a damn picnic. “The trainings,” Ronan continued, voice sharp enough to slice the air, “will consist of the Moonlit Sprints, the Shadow Hunt, the Transformation Drill, Pack Tactics… and the Sense Challenge.” Excited whispers rose across the field. Some students even jumped. Then someone...very brave or very stupid...shouted from the back:

"The two of you will never be together! You must remember, Jiro is your brother and nothing else!" Her mother's words struck her heart forcing her to bury her feelings for him.
