Again, the line went silent. "Mate??? I-i don't understand. Mason was her mate.. Are you telling me she has a second chance mate???" Her voice suddenly sounded very happy. "I don't know. But please, get here quick." With that I hung up the phone. I hope they come soon. I feel that everything is going to spiral out of control soon.

Rose muttered softly, her tone clawing at the air. Her personal assistant entered hesitantly. “Rose… this is the latest report. This morning, Ruby Moon was seen entering Master Lee’s recording studio—” “Shut up!” Rose snapped. Her gaze was wild, unlike usual. “Do you think I’m stupid?! I know everything!” She paced back and forth like a lion in a cage. Her mind was full of tangled threads pulling at each other. Russell’s death was still a mystery. Ruby had once been kidnapped, escaped, and was returned to Juan’s house. And now the news that Ruby wanted to shine again?

I leaned both hands on the edge of the mahogany desk, my weight forward, my eyes scanning every square inch of the high-resolution feeds. Beside me, Rodah sat perfectly still. Her coffee mug sat untouched on the tray, the steam no longer rising from the dark liquid. She didn't move, her gaze glued to the screen showing the front doors of the secondary greenhouse. Her fingers were curled tightly into the leather arms of her chair, her knuckles pale under the dim light of the desk lamp. "Watch the treeline," I said, my voice barely louder than a breath. Right on cue, a dark shape broke through the dense brush three hundred yards from the fence.

The forest was alive with the soft hum of crickets and the distant rustle of leaves, the moon casting everything in silver. Rosemary took a deep breath, her shoulders squaring as though she was bracing herself for something. She stepped forward, her bare feet sinking into the cool earth, and raised a hand. I watched her closely, the air around us shifting subtly, a faint hum of energy building. “Rose, what are you doing?” I asked cautiously. “Trust me,” she said, her voice calm.

I start walking out. "Okay." The lady smiles. The hall slowly fills up. The contestants take their seats on stage, each in a modest black gown and simple jewelry. But Rose isn't there. I turn to Micah. "Where is Rose?" I say in hushed tones. "You said she'd be here." "That was what she said."

He gave me a contagious toothy grin, one I immediately returned. His eyes then drifted to him, clapping him on the back. "This is Dr. Alexander Wood, my good friend. Came here for some books." I nodded. "Wood, this is Rosette. She's here now, so whenever you don't find me here, she's in charge." He nodded too, still looking at me. "Hello Rose, nice to see you again." He smiled down at me, and extended a hand for me to shake, the hand that wasn't holding on to the books.

As such, there are only eight contestants left. In light of that, there will only be four roses handed out tonight.”

I rummaged through the cupboards until I found a single expired packet of instant noodles. The kettle had been broken for weeks, so I used hot water from the heater to soak the noodles and set the bowl on the dining table. My phone buzzed—Rose was streaming again. This time, they weren't at the villa. From the background, it looked like a hot spring resort. Rose sat in a loose T-shirt, eating chocolate cake while chatting with her viewers. The man off-camera occasionally fed her a bite with a fork, his hand gentle and familiar. 'Can't you show more couple moments? That hand alone looks like it belongs to a total heartthrob!'
