The Royal Crimson Bar lived up to its reputation. Creatures of the night and humans mingled as they raised their drinks to the air and danced to the beat of the bustling music. The night hasn't yet reached its peak but humans flocked to this place without regard to the safety code the World Government established to protect them from the creatures of the night. Fifty years ago, the world dramatically changed after a phenomenon struck it with the revelation that the creatures of the night really exist and not some type of fiction that could be read in novels.

Stacy finally reached the destination. She paid the cab and as soon as she turned around, her breath hitched. The royal hotel certainly lived up to its name. The hotel reached the sky as its glass windows glittered in the moonlight. Inside of the hotel lit with golden lights giving it a royal vibe. There was tight security and she saw many armed men standing surrounding the building. She had never been to any royal suits before. But it seemed very unusual to have this many armed men.

They must be expecting a bigger price. "Yes. Your swords has the ensign of your kingdoms as royalties. I want to add it to my collection." I bit my lower lip as I looked at the princes. How could I have a heart to fail them? They hava taken so much pains just to get to this point. And thinking about the very kind queen that reminds me of my own mother… How can I fail her?

Calmly, I took out a golden badge and raised it above my head. This was a royal-exclusive badge, something only direct royal relatives could possess. The gold one in my hand was the Alpha King's personal insignia. Ignoring Peyton's stunned expression, I announced in front of everyone present, "In my capacity as the Alpha King's representative, I hereby declare that from this day forward, no pack is permitted to have any dealings with Matt White's pack." Matt's pupils shrank sharply as he glared at me. "Who do you think you are?! How dare you speak on the Alpha King's behalf!"

The mate bond hummed between us, warm and steady. I reached out my large, scarred hand and placed it gently over her small fingers, guiding the quill pen. "The Council scribes use a specific type of blue ink for royal deployments," I murmured, my deep voice rough and close to her ear. I used my free hand to pull a small, hidden glass bottle from my pocket. "And they always stamp the bottom with a double lines of hot wax. Like this."

And for the first time, I really fucking looked at him. Black fur. Pure fucking black. My attention snapped to his eyes. Golden. Bright, unmistakable golden eyes stared back at me. Something inside me went completely still. What the fuck? “Damian.” Bruce had noticed it too. Of course he had. Black fur. Golden eyes. There were characteristics certain bloodlines carried. Traits that could appear throughout generations and occasionally surprise the hell out of everyone. But those two together? No. Black fur and golden eyes belonged to Royal wolves. They were the physical mark of our bloodline.

"They're faint. Almost gray." "It’s walnut ink," Elena explained, her voice dropping into the clinical cadence of an auditor. "My father only used walnut ink for his personal diaries and rough, unauthorized drafts because it fades faster if exposed to sunlight. He was keeping a shadow record. He would write the official decree in permanent ink for the King’s clerks, but he would scratch the real numbers—the variables Alaric wasn't supposed to audit—in the margins."

He presented the scroll, and my eyes expanded in recognition as I beheld the royal emblem adorning it. "An intruder at Crimson Cove's borders?" I raised my head to look at Palmer, concern creasing my brow. His words had my full attention. As he revealed the scroll with the royal emblem, my eyes widened, recognizing the significance immediately. "Bring it here," I instructed with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension, reaching out to take the scroll from him. I carefully broke the seal and began to read the contents, my expression shifting as I absorbed the message. By the authority vested in me, Alpha King Azarius of the Sowinski Kingdom, I hereby issue this royal decree:

LOUISE I blink. “The what?” “The Royale Gala,” she repeats and stands up. She walks back to her dresser, pulls out a drawer, and dips her hand inside. When her hand emerges, I see an elegant cream colored envelope embossed with a royal seal. A royal seal that I instantly recognize to be the seal of the Lycan Royal Family. “Mum, what is that?”
