Second chance at happiness

Second chance at happiness

By the time Mira came out, Beth had all the vegetables ready. Mira added 4 gallons of water, 8 cups pickling salt, 6 oranges and 2 lemons halved along with 2 bulbs garlic in a large pot. She squeezed the oranges and lemons as she put them in. She placed the pot over high heat and was about to stir when Beth came over “Mira, I will stir. Tell me what to do and you go complete your work.”. “Aunt once salt is completely dissolved, take a few logs out so that the heat can bought down and remove the pot from the heat once it simmers.” She passed the ladle to Beth and went out to the outer shed.

Voodoo Queens of New Orleans

Voodoo Queens of New Orleans

Get your Mama that bottle of rum and a candle. The spirit was back in my head. She gave me instructions, and after a brief moment of disbelief, I decided to follow them. I ran to the altar, used my shirt to grab the charred bottle of rum, the half-melted candle, and the last match. Now sprinkle the rum on the ground where your mama be at, on Papa's veve. Sprinkle it over the both of you, too. I followed her instructions carefully. Mama looked at me, stunned, that I knew what to do. I sprinkled some rum on the veve, then on the both of us, before leaving the bottle near the veve. Then I used the last match to light the candle.

The Hunt

The Hunt

It was perfect for a diversion. Susanna grabbed a jar out of her bag and opened the lid quickly. She cringed at the smell that wafted out of the jar. She was definitely bordering on desperate, but then all three of them were. She flung the jar with as much force as she could and the yellow liquid sprayed down the path. The zig-zag pattern of the path helped. The liquid hit rocks all the way down to the river and sprayed across bushes, trees and the trail. Susanna quickly twisted the lid back on the jar and tossed it as hard as she could. She didn’t need to carry it further, it would only weigh her down. She was grateful she had bought jars that were carved from wood.

A insanely unique and interesting premise executed very well! I love Kate's character and the inner battle she has in regards to the Hunt. I also love how the differences between twins Izzy and Kate are concise and clear. The dialogue is realistic and girls are fun and likable! Great job!

Werewolf romance was not really my taste but this one is interesting. Not only did it mention about the most talked about alphas but it tackled the other positions such as those who protect the pack during travel. It's new knowledge for me so I very much like it. Plus, the hunt is surely exciting.

The Carrero Contract (series book 3)

The Carrero Contract (series book 3)

Please stop disabling my hands and making me look like an utter moron in front of this man. “Sounds so simple when you put it that way.” I stammer out, attempting to sound like me, only higher pitched, much antsier and hanging on the verge of a mental break. “It is as simple as we make it.” He takes the jar I have lifted from my hand and opens it for me, laying it on the counter, making it clear he can see how much I’m struggling to do basic tasks. I take a deep breath, hating how obvious I’m being and try to steady my trembling fingers before I continue.

My fingertips touched the outside of the jar, and my heart pounded. When nothing happened, I was braver, taking the jar off the stand. It was light, very light, almost like there was nothing inside. I pressed my ear to the side. I didn't do well with snakes either. Heck, I shook the bloody thing and I could still hear nothing. Curiosity peaked, I slowly turned the lid, my heart beating softly within me. When it came undone I froze, pursing my lips. I was doing this, wasn't I?

SHE PRINCE

SHE PRINCE

He pushes the jar towards me with his finger and leans back looking at me with a look like let's-see-what-you've -got. Taking the jar I shake it examining the sound of the dice clashing, stopping my movement I place the jar slowly on the table, staring at the brown ceramic jar for a while I lift it up slowly a smile making its way on my lips every inch it moves up and there comes the three sixes. Taking the jar anxiously he moves faster as earlier and slams the jar on the table lifting the lid he leans back roaring low. "Both won each game, the third game decides the winner," the other man announces.

The Art of Life and Love: The First Spark

The Art of Life and Love: The First Spark

It made it easier to fold without deflation of the cream. He repeated the procedure and folded the egg whites in. Dillon used a ziplock to pipe the mousse into twelve ounce mason jars, lined them up on a sheet tray, and garnished them with whipped cream, a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, and a gingersnap. He screwed lids on to all of the jars and placed them in the fridge to chill, next to Tony's orgasmic rice pudding. They didn't take long to set and would be ready by dessert time.

Her Cold-Hearted Alpha

Her Cold-Hearted Alpha

He left me in the room, saying if I were done soon we would go check on Luca’s bandage. I now looked at the long line of jars, this was going to be a piece of cake. I put some music on low volume through my phone, not wanting to disturb anyone as I had forgotten my earphones, before getting to work. "Elder wood, Lavender, Clove…." I wrote the names in my large writing on a sticky note as I sniffed the herb carefully, not wanting to miss anything. The task wasn’t as easy as it appeared, it had taken me more than an hour. At the end of it there were two jars I was still stuck on. My head felt fuzzy, probably thanks to all the herbs I had been inhaling for the last hour. I massaged my temples b

I really loved this book. the daily updates made my morning... the first 2 in this series were very well written and I'm looking forward to the next one. thank you for your hard work. it is so awful when writers just abandon a story and characters the readers have invested time and caring into.

Dark of Night

Dark of Night

This is a complicated spell, and having an audience always makes me nervous. “You resurrected an entire graveyard full of bodies,” Binx reminds me. “This spell is child’s play.” “Thanks, Mr. Prickle Paws.” I smile at his shadowy figure, and Pandora jumps onto the counter, looking into the bubbling saucepan on the stove. It doesn’t have the same appeal as a cauldron, but it’s much easier to wash since it fits inside the dishwasher. The potion has to be stirred three times counter clockwise with one of the human ribs after it’s been at a roaring boil for exactly seven minutes. I flick off the burner and let the potion cool for a few minutes before I scoop some up and put it in a potion vial.
