I was done running. POV Lee "FUCK!" I spat as we ran through the forest. Dean and Devon were on either side of me. We were surrounded by the warriors from all our packs along with the Alphas. We were a huge force and there was no way that the hunters or Sam's warriors would win against us. There was no other option. "What?" Devon demanded. "Your sister is so damn stubborn." I spat back. Both Dean and Devon slowed but I shook my head at them. "Don't stop. The ceremony begins in less than an hour. We don't have time." I ordered them both.

After taking one last deep breath, I turned around and continued to run, knowing damn well I wasn’t going to stop until I knew I was on the other side of the world from the Devil himself. I have no idea how I’m going to do it, but I will change everything, even my entire identity if I have to. I will do everything I can… To never have to see him again.

“Stay here until I tell you to run. And then you run. Fast. Do you understand? He feels her nod. Slowly, he steps out of the elevator. And the Hybrid steps closer too. The growl in his chest became louder. The Hybrid started to walk. Slowly– taunting him. Remus walked too, determined to put enough distance from him and Eden. Then the Hybrid ran. Remus stopped and shouted his command, “Run!” Eden took off to the other wing of the building. She knew something was wrong. Remus felt different. The hooded figure terrified her to the bones and so did Remus. So when he shouted for her to run, she did. But he didn’t tell her not to look back– which she also did.

ANGELIC... My feet hurt every time they hit the ground, but I refuse to stop running until the two fucking miles. That has to be my best quality: perseverance. I run like my life depends on it, but I pretend I don't feel my lower muscles burning. I hum along to the music playing in my headphones, paying attention to something other than fatigue. Holy curiosity. Why did I go to the Bronx? Why did I need to see LeBlanc being mean to be sure he was mean? Now my head is spinning around the same topic.

They were all eager to meet the Alpha and his mate, to hear her speak, to be in their presence. I could hear the sound of chanting in the distance, the crowd's excitement building with each passing moment. The air was charged with anticipation and I knew that I had to keep moving, to keep pushing forward, if I was going to have any chance of reaching the front of the crowd and reaching Lucas.

His heart pounded in his ears, drowning out the sounds of the race that grew fainter with each passing moment. The path back to the school unfurled before him, each twist and turn guiding his purposeful strides. The urgency of his mission fueled his resolve, erasing any trace of fatigue or doubt that threatened to creep into his consciousness. With every beat of his pounding heart, he felt the weight of responsibility grow, knowing that the fate of his pack rested on his shoulders.

I just needed to get away. Why am I running?

The need to move thrummed through my muscles, so I changed quickly, eager to get outside and to feel the rush of blood heating my body. With my headphones in, it was easy to give in to the familiar push-pull of my muscles, and the rhythmic pounding of my feet against the pavement. Running helped me to focus, and the cool touch of the stone at the base of my throat drew me back to that impossible problem, every time my mind began to slip from it. Cyrus had deliberately not told me what it was; he could have so easily mentioned its purpose when he gave it to me.
