It's hard to play on the floor and sit like a lady in a pencil skirt. My brothers are twins and absolutely adorable. They are six years old. Until children turn 7, in our pack they are considered pups. At 7, they start school. Since Rog and Kyle live in the packhouse, they are currently watched by a nanny with the other packhouse pups. They love seeing me and I love spending Wednesday evenings with them. Rog and I played trucks while Kyle continued talking. Kyle suddenly turned and declared, "Ashley! Luna Maisie, may Ashley join us?"

Yeah, most have million-dollar vehicles but we for them in cash, so it’s not like we have to make payments on them. “Lachlan already knows this, but tomorrow Tempest will join you. How furious are you at me, little Lock?” Ryder asks and I arch my eyebrow. Ryder hasn’t called him ‘little Lock’ since he had that growth spurt at age twenty when he shot up and bulked out.

Kids generally began getting their wolves around 12. I looked around nervously while treading water, but everything looked normal. I dipped my face under the water up to the brim of my eyes, still looking around. A tree at the edge of the massive yard seemed to shake slightly, but I wasn't sure if I was just seeing things. Just to be safe I moved over to Pat. “Pat” I whispered right next to his dripping ear, “I don't feel right. I think something bad is going to happen. I want you to go into the house, get mom or dad, and tell them we need them to come outside. Do not come back out here without somebody.”

“Whose pups?” While Draco told him the children had shifted, Mitch’s mind drifted away, and he thought about his children. He wondered when they would shift too. Most pups of alpha blood would have gotten their wolf spirit between the ages of 7 to 11. “They are just 7,” his beast said. “Give them time.” Mitch nodded. “Oh, and our traders have reported being verbally abused and discriminated against in the human town by some people there,” Draco said. Mitch groaned and rubbed his forehead. “I thought we were past that.”

Other young pups are doing this exact same thing and even when they fall, I see them get up and climb up once more. These are just six to eight-year-olds. Sure, werewolf kids are stronger and faster than your average child, but they're still just children. Right? "Are we going in Miss or are we not!" The snappy irritation in that tone is not lost to me so I look at the driver. Maya has ignored him all this time, and I know we're new in the pack, but I'm done being a pushover.

I’m not saying I or my wolf don’t get curious now and then but it’s more of a passive curiosity and not something my life revolves around. Anyway, coming back to my reason for excitement, everyone aged between 17-22 has scheduled training sessions after high school ends and since it’s my seventeenth birthday today, I get to have my first-ever training session. Ryder and Alan both turned seventeen a few months ago, so they have already been attending the classes. A month ago, on Alan’s birthday, I requested the current alpha to let me join the combat sessions, considering I would have been of age in a month but he refused and went on about rules and regulations. It was opulent and beautiful. "How many people are in your pack?" I asked with wonder. "About 400. We're the largest pack in the United States" Clay replied proudly. I nodded. "The house has to be large, most of the young wolves live there. Usually we move in around the age of nineteen and we don't leave until we want to start a family." Abby explained. "Do you live here?" I asked her and she nodded. Neil came and opened our door. He growled when he saw me sitting on Craig's lap and Craig growled back.

She gives me a look, but there’s a flicker of amusement in it, the tension easing a little. Jaxon leans back to inspect our joint masterpiece. “Daddy Ryder is the big wolf, Daddy Callen is the angry wolf, Daddy Parker is the sunshine wolf, Daddy Remy is the forest and Uncle Jake is the brain wolf.” I stop breathing for a second. I think we all do. Paige goes still, looking between her son, Parker, and me with something like awe. “Yeah,” I manage, my voice rough. “It looks good, buddy.”

The Desert Storm pack lands were huge, dense forestry surrounded most of the borders. The patrol was heavy and the wolves all looked rough, most had some sort of scars on their bodies as they walked around shirtless. The packhouse was a stunning building, second only to the Alpha’s mansion. The training ground was also huge, sectioned into different areas and it was full of wolves of all ages, training according to their levels. Where Elijah’s pack encourage pups to start to train from as young as 6 years of age it was not mandatory, here it seemed that it was compulsory as soon as the pup could talk and walk.

I asked. “25 years old,” she replied. “And who is the owner of that pup?” I asked. “She is mine,” she replied. “Good, now what did I say?” I asked. She kept quiet for some time. “You said everyone from age 16 to 21 with no pups is training, and if anyone above 21 wants to train, they are allowed to train,” she said. I smiled at her. “You do not belong under the category, so next,” I said, pointing at another person.
