In their homeworld of Triton, they lived in islets surrounded by a vast dark blue ocean that were occasionally disturbed by the storm that came from the grey cloudy skies. Here, however, was a desert that changes color depending on where the sun would stop at a given time. In the horizon, it would be purple. If the sun was at zenith point, it was light tan but when the sun sets and paved way for the moon to shine, it was green. The Solar ADF had grown on calling it 'Neon Desert', for some reason.

The Black Hawk skimmed low over the Saudi desert, its rotors slicing the midnight air into ribbons. No lights. No chatter. Just darkness and wind—and the occasional hiss of static in the team’s earpieces. The world outside the open door was an ocean of black dunes, luminous only through the phantom green of NVGs: a drowned, prehistoric seabed frozen in waves of bone. Inside, six soldiers sat in silence, faces painted, eyes locked forward. Ghost Team. SASR.

Noah’s jaw tightens immediately as his eyes narrow on the guy. “What the fuck do you mean the signal is coming from the Sahara, Blaze?” he asks, his voice full of disbelief. So that was the guy’s name. At least now I can use it instead of just calling him ‘Guy’. Blaze looks just as confused as the rest of us as he turns the screen slightly back toward himself, double-checking whatever he’s seeing. “That’s exactly what I’m getting,” he says after a moment. “The signal is clear and stable and it shows it’s coming from there.”

The Sahara stretched endlessly under a blazing sun, golden dunes rolling like frozen waves toward the horizon. Deep in the Erg Chebbi, a luxurious private camp of black silk tents stood hidden in a sheltered basin. Inside the largest tent, thick Persian rugs covered the sand, sheer fabrics billowed gently in the hot desert breeze, and incense of oud and sandalwood hung heavy in the air. Amara Khalil, 28, stood barefoot on the cool silk rugs, her golden-brown skin already glistening with a light sheen of sweat. Her long black hair clung to her back, full breasts rising and falling rapidly beneath a thin white linen dress.

Hope. Her eyes darted to Erik, but he didn't notice her stumble. His jaw was set, his eyes hard as he tugged her forward. He wasn't slowing down, and he wasn't looking back either. By the time they reached the trade route at the city's border, Rey's lungs burnt, her breath falling in sharp pants. The air here was thick with dust and spice, with wagons lining the road in an endless procession. Merchants shouted their wares, oxen stamped their hooves, and guards cursed as they struggled to keep order in the chaos. It was a river of bodies and wheels, a flood with no end.

"They're here! Right now! Only an hour or two away from the village! We have to evacuate now!" The words were passing too fast, the time for safety was coming too slow, but Suka knew exactly what to do. He pushed his way through in between Matthew and June as he marched out of the hut, looking so serious Matthew's heart gave a great leap as June let out a loud gulp. Matthew had never saw Suka like that, but now that he did, he had an uncomfortable twist inside of him. But before Suka stepped out, he turned to Matthew. "Find Atlantis," he ordered briskly. "There should be some emergency weapons lined up there somewhere, you can use it. The door is at the back of the Island..."

I was all the way on the opposite side of the library around two corners and I never made a move. “Whoa,” I whispered to myself. Once I gathered myself I looked at the book my nose was pointing to and sat Indian style on the floor and studied the cover. “Odins’s Special Warriors” The story read about wolves that Odin commissioned to go into battle and these wolves were so powerful that when they sustained injuries in battle, they were unaffected. Their strength, speed and agility were unmatched as these wolves were seemingly invincible. ALPHA KANE POV I knew that Savannah wouldn’t have gone many places. She was stuck with Calvin for her whole life and while coming to my pack, they definitely wouldn’t have made a fun trip out of it. They would have tried to get to safety as soon as possible. When we got out of the car and I saw the look on Savannah’s face, I knew I was right. Her face lit up like it was Christmas morning for a little kid. She’d never been to New Orleans before. And there was so much stuff to do in this city, I was determined to give her new fantastic memories to try and replace the old ones that she can’t stop having nightmares about.
