She didn't think she could handle Samantha seeing the monster that she'd become. Glancing down the street, she saw a car that was a bit too ritzy for the suburbs of Kennesaw. It was a Porsche of some kind, and Shane Stapleton was leaning against the door. Suddenly, Shamira wanted to hit someone, and that someone had just made himself available. She strode down to the aged vampire with ill intent clearly decorating her face. Shane stood up and away from the car, not backing down and not looking particularly afraid. He looked sad.

"We need to leave. He’s here. He’ll take my son away from me." "Samantha! Calm down! Who are you referring to?" I asked in astonishment. I hugged her to calm her down. She feels too much anxiety now. I feel her terror as she races down the stairs, hiding behind the door, not knowing what to do.

“I’m from Black Ridge Park. But I was thrown out… I was banished. It’s… it’s a long story.” Mira’s expression changed instantly. Her hands froze. Her gaze sharpened. “Black Ridge Park?” she asked in a hushed tone, her voice coated with fear. “Are you… are you one of them? One of those blood-sucking monsters?” “No!” Samantha snapped before she could stop herself, her voice sharp and defensive. “That’s not what they are. That’s not what I am.” She could feel her pulse rising, the faint flicker of heat crawling under her skin the same feeling she’d had just before her first transformation.

Sammy nodded and got out of the car. Heading towards the house, she thought about how she could live with all this further.
