MAYA

MAYA

She met with a pair of dark orbs that gleamed evilly. "Move and I'll kill you. Use nen and I'll kill you. Make a sound and I'll kill you." Maya spoke with a cold smirk over her face, in the dim light Maya saw the color drain from Sanjana's face and she cackled heartily. "Oh! How I wanted to quote Killua's threat to Sadaso*!" Maya squealed like a child making Sanjana scowl at her. Sanjana opened her mouth only to clamp it shut back watching Maya's expression change in a second's difference.

Alpha Santa

Alpha Santa

I can’t skip it. By the time I make it to the training ground, everyone’s already gathered. The chatter dies down as Luna Serena steps forward, her presence commanding. She scans the crowd, her usual calm and authoritative expression firmly in place. “Alright, today’s going to be… fun,” she begins, a sly smile tugging at the corners of her lips. The word ‘fun’ sounds like a threat. “I’ve brought in someone special for you all—a combat master.” Excited whispers ripple through the group until she steps aside, revealing a small, unassuming woman with a name tag that reads "Coach Morgan." She’s shorter than anyone here—barely over five feet—with wiry arms and a steely glint in her eye.

SFO

SFO

Leon laughed, walking to the window. "No I'm not!" I groaned, I wouldn't say teacher's pet, but I was competitive, a perfectionist and definitely a workaholic. "Leon Bailey," he said before turning to me. "You should go for it, you deserve it." He shrugged. I moved closer to him, standing by the side of the window. "But so should you, I think she will give it to you." I sighed. "Maybe, I am the worlds best SFO." Leon put his gun in his vest, turning to me. "I don't know if you know, I saved a colleague's life." He gave me a smirk. I pushed past him, going to the window.

MAY

MAY

May sighed and rubbed Vaseline on her scalp and combed her long, ebony nappy hair that was almost touching her shoulder backward before using a rubber band to put it in place. Soon enough, May is locking the front door of her house and putting the key under the flower vase outside. That had always been the key hiding place. She began to stroll out of the compound. Plastering a big smile on her face while greeting the owners of the few shops she walked past as she took the route that led to Maryam's school. "Such a happy woman," she heard a woman selecting beans in front of her shop say to her friend. "She has no money but her family is always happy."

The Dream Elixir
This book was beautifully written and I enjoyed it so very much. It made me feel so many things and I was on the edge of my seat for most of the while because I really wanted the best for May. I felt so much anger towards Edric, uncertainty towards Tega, and love for Edric. definitely insightful
Sinikiem precious
Nice book. I love how it treats domestic issues prevalent in a lot of Nigerian homes. I also love how the book doesn't glamorize abuse like other pics I've read in this genre. Seeing as the author is a girl from Bayelsa, it gives me joy that she adds elements of her background in the story.

Anaya

Anaya

If I may” “He got held up in the states, but he'll be back by next weekend, and our had some business to handle”, one of the men answered. “Ah, alright, right this way then”, my father ushered them into the living room. “This is the bride to be, Anaya” Serena looked at me, she scrutinised me head to toe as if checking out a dress. “My sons, Antonio, Marco, Davide,” he turned and looked disdainfully towards... “and my youngest son, Luca.

Santino

Santino

I continue with my eating, making sure I don’t waste the delicious food. “If I may ask, what’s that stone for anyway? It has to be so important that you have to kidnap me and hold me ransom.” I wipe my mouth with a napkin as I set the rest of the wasting utensils away. Santino stares at his brother, and Maximo nods his head. “We are not from here, Samantha.” “Duh…” “No, you don’t get it,” Maximo cuts me off. “We are not from here, meaning earth.”

OH MY BOSS.

OH MY BOSS.

Andria asked, her voice worried and Sophia chuckled as Bianca rolled her eyes. "I'm doing amazing. I'm with Lennox". Sana shoved the others away. "Wow, why do I feel like that has a lot of hidden meaning to it". Andria pushed her head forward. "Ignore her Sophia, she's been sex starved for too long, so she's seeking her pleasure from other couples' love life". Sophia shook her head at their bickering. "I'm very certain that Sana is just being her usual self. So how were Jonathan's parents? Are we going to hear wedding bells soon".
