I whispered, and with a nod we slipped inside. The apartment-style suite was weird. The humming coming from an old-fashioned radio on the nightstand, playing some kind of static-filled tune that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on the end. The bed was untouched, the sheets perfectly crisp as if no one had slept in it. But what really caught my eye was the collection of… dolls? “Okay, this is officially creepy,” Laura whispered, her eyes fixed on a shelf lined with porcelain dolls, each one staring ahead. “Let’s get out of here.”

Hendrix POV After that weirdo's silly bedtime story about end-of-the-world cults or something, I could tell Anna's resolve was breaking down. Those weird creatures and their horrifying objects were like living nightmares come true. They had twisted bodies and soulless eyes that looked right into your mind with cold malice. Their rude and inappropriate presence made me lose even my normal confidence. But giving in to fear was the first thing that led to loss. They locked eyes, but the dead girl remained silent, her ghostly presence sending shivers down Lilith's spine. Overwhelmed by the sight of the apparition, Lilith rose to her feet and scrambled out of the woods, screaming in fear with each step.

As soon as I entered, I felt something was off about the thing in my hands. Its eyes shifted slightly, as if sensing its surroundings. Then, its expression slowly turned into one of despair. That meant it probably couldn't come over at night to suck my blood anymore.

When I peer into them, I see an exact resemblance of me. Realizing that I am no longer on the bed, and I feel foreign and cold, I look down at the floor and see a doll’s feet instead of my own. Shocked and scared, I glance back up to my bed and there she is peering back at me with those eyes that are not mine, but Marybelle’s. She laughs before climbing off the bed and scooping me up in one hand.
