The second one made more sense but it was also the one that I had the most doubt in being the truth because of the duration and everything happening and what I was hearing that I didn't know before. I had given up on finding anything in the local libraries or even on the internet because everything that came up in searches was folklore and creepy stories of people who swear they have seen the undead and everything else parents use to scare us, children, into behaving ourselves. Some of the sites I had ended up on had seriously scared me a lot more than the three men who had turned into vicious beasts and nibbled on a moving car's tyres.

Then there were these stories of the locals being blood-sucking vampires and all the BS surrounding that subject. Oh and the witches of the forest and the great lake—supposedly they lure pregnant women to their deaths and drown

The carriage is passing by the desolate forest. Everywhere she looks, there is nothing but darkness. It is as if she has gone blind and the world has suddenly become cold. Do you know that?” Svetlana shared one of those horror stories she had heard from her childhood. Smiling, she glanced at Ahrio and caught him just staring at her face like he’s engrossed about everything about her. “Really? Do those supernatural beings include goddesses? Coz I’m definitely seeing one right now.”

So much time passed she worried about her baby. “Excellent idea. Let’s hope she’ll talk to us. Before we go through anything else in that book we should worry about?” Greta didn’t want to remind Gabby that they still didn’t know who performed the ritual that put the curse in place. “It talks of the fair folk a lot and to appease them always. They still pass those traditions down from generation to generation, and we put it right into the traditions of the inn, so it becomes a unique part of the visit. There’s also talk about spirits and ghosts. Like they are two different things.”

As for Jack, he stood some distance away from all of them. Father asked Anne to needle the tip of her index finger and put the dripping blood into a small bowl of water. Father then recited spell after spell, and was greeted by the sect members who repeated the incantation while raising their hands and walking around them. A moment later, Anne felt that her head was hurting terribly. She couldn't help it and screamed out loud. Her eyes began to turn white and blood came out of her nose. Anne looked up and grinned horribly. For a moment Anne's face took on the appearance of a demon, which it wasn't her.
