BEFORE I KNEW IT, I FINISHED WRITING In total darkness. Back then, the night was silent and, of course, scary. Normally, I don't really mind writing on a dark night or finding myself in the middle of a dark place yet as if I was watching the ending scene of a horror movie, all my senses turned on and scared the hell out of me, especially when my story ended in such a morbid conclusion. You know that feeling when you suddenly thought of something scary while you were pissing in the bathroom with no accompanying light around you. Yeah, that shuddering feeling that goes along with the pleasure of releasing some juice, I felt that.

In 1983 a Mrs Carson of New York was laid out in our coffin, presumed dead of hear disease. As mourners watched, she suddenly sat up, alive as you or I. Unfortunately her daughter dropped dead of fright on the spot. I don't own any of this stories. I found them in some creepy books. I'm thinking of writing my own scary stories, but not anytime soon. Epilogue: Now that I have written several of these stories, I find that my old ghosts have started to haunt my dreams yet again. It is amazing that once things are written down, they begin to take on a life of their own. Just remember, if you don’t want things to go bump in the night, don’t tell anyone else about them.

She knew almost everyone on campus, especially the ones good at writing. It’s true what they say: never tell your secrets to gossipers, especially writers. Why? Because they might turn it into a story and expose you. Dead meat! She heard Mae sigh. She turned to her again. “That was deep. What’s wrong?” She thought the drama was over, but Mae had a part two. “I got scammed,” Mae said, closing her notebook and putting it away. “You? Scammed? Wow, that’s a miracle,” she teased, laughing. “Are you done?” she asked as Mae stood up.

Or if the weather was on the colder side, we’d sit deep within the woods hurtled around a warm campfire, marshmallows burning and scary stories flowing allowed tears to well in my eyes. Back then some story of a monster hiding in a cabin ready to eat people was the most frightening thing I had heard, but I was unaware of the real nightmare I would be faced with, I didn’t have a monster in a cabin hunting me, but a real life monster who was sat around that once happy campfire.

What’s his name again?” “Jack,” I answered, almost bursting into laughter. “See? Even the name sounds dangerous,” Lydia said dramatically. “What if Jack spreads your legs and eat you alive. It’s been a long time since you got a proper...”
